> They helped us find beautiful countertops that fit our budget. The install people did a nice job and were friendly.

**Comment from Tops Solid Surface:**

> Thank you for the review! We appreciate you taking the time to post this on Houzz!

**★★★★★ — KIM, Nov. 2022**

> these people are great! This company was great to work with from start to finish. The guys that came for the install were awesome!

**Comment from Tops Solid Surface:**

> Thanks so much for sharing your experience! We appreciate your business and hope you enjoy your countertops.

**★ — HU-937994091, Aug. 2021**

> We had the worst experience with damage to our granite in 3 places, uneven cut far from the wall on one side that needed tile to float out and a larger caulking line to cover, and the corners and edges on one area didn’t match the rest of the kitchen. Please see the pictures attached. The customer service from a staff member and the owner was so disappointing then we tried to resolve multiple issues with the install of our granite. During demo our cabinets and hardwood floors weren’t protected well leading to some damage, we had a lot of damage to the walls and metal corners, and a shattered pendant light.
> The biggest issue was finding 3 chips on our granite in different areas which the largest was found by the installers and fixed poorly without us being notified. I found it after they left from the silver scratches on our granite from their razor blade attempting to fix and the repair wasn’t flush with the counters. They made 3 attempts to fix this large chip, the first one has the silver scratches, the second was cream/didn’t match with bubble/holes, and the third matches better. The owner said granite chips like that on its own and that it was at no fault of their Company and asked me to provide video to back up my allegation that they chipped/damaged our granite during transportation/install.
> The slab cut on the side of our bar area wasn’t straight and was so far from the wall that our tile guy had to float out our tile and put a thicker bead at the bottom to cover it up.
> The corner and edges of two of our granite slabs are different, one is more of a rounded bullnose edge and corner and the rest of the kitchen is a straight edge and corner.
> The owner said our seam which looks like a grout line is industry standard and that he would have our project put in his own home. I tried working with the owner and all I got was comments from him that we seemed too detail oriented, their company should have steered us in the direction of another countertop company since our expectations weren’t what their company could provide, and that it was a good thing we canceled our tile backsplash job with them because that’s not their “bread and butter” that we would be happier with another company (which we were)
> I understand that things happen and we are easy going people that also do not write bad reviews but there was a lot of things that added up and we want to make sure others are aware of our experience so this doesn’t happen to them.
> We had an employee of another granite company come out for another job we have and he looked at our kitchen and was taken back at how horrible of a job it was.
> I won’t refer this business to anyone and won’t give them any more of our business. It’s so disappointing because we love the granite we picked from the warehouse up north, we payed extra for the slab layout, and love to support a local small business.

**Comment from Tops Solid Surface:**

> Hi,
>
> I am the owner of Tops Solid Surface, and while I am sorry that Rachelle Riley did not leave happy, I feel that this post is an inaccurate portrayal of events. Since Mrs. Riley mentioned me specifically, I feel it is within my rights to respond to these allegations directly.
>
> First, I would like to note that the pictures which Mrs. Riley has posted are from BEFORE we conducted our repairs. These pictures are not an accurate representation of the excellent condition which we left her countertops in. Even on the initial installation day, Mrs. Riley left my install team a 10/10 service score and noted that our team showed up on time, that they, the Rileys themselves had inspected the countertops, and that everything was the way the Riley’s expected at the end of the installation.
>
> So, when Mrs. Riley continued to call us after the installation, I was surprised to say the least.
>
> When customers have issues, we do our best to resolve them quickly and to the customer’s level of satisfaction. When an issue arises, we can go back to the home and address and correct any concerns in one visit. We have countless emails from our staff that reviewed all details of her project thoroughly before she committed to her project, and during the entire process. I would also like to note that she had approached my Sales Team with quotes from other companies, requesting discounts multiple times and wanting price matching from Costco.
> Across the board, our entire staff, went above and beyond with her. After installation, our team endured countless emails and texts from her requesting discounts (again), readdressing the same installation issues (all of which are well within industry standard for countertops). We set clear expectations up front of what to expect. No one, not my awesome team of installers, not my salespeople, nor our production team desired to have any further interactions with her. That sort of response from my team has simply never happened before. At that point I volunteered to reach out to Mrs. Riley and attempt to satisfy her requests.
>
> I have 2 important responsibilities as an owner – happy customers and happy employees. I determined after my interactions with her that our team should not conduct any further work for her. On very rare occasions, a handful of customers have unrealistic expectations and regardless of how great our processes and people are, this was the situation with Mrs. Riley. Therefore, we opted to not proceed with her tile installation quote and suggested that they look elsewhere for their tile installation.
>
> Her husband then came to our showroom and started cursing us out loudly for not wanting to do the tile work with them. He was kind enough to step outside the shop and discuss the matter with me there, where I provided him with a few local tile contractor contacts.
>
> I then went to her home and addressed every concern with her countertop installation myself. Rachelle at that time agreed that the only outstanding issue at that juncture was the large chip by her window which I agreed had been poorly filled initially.
>
> We happily refilled and refinished the one remaining chip issue and she agreed before we left that it looked good. The pictures which she posted are not an accurate representation of our final work. Mrs. Riley herself agreed that the new chip fills looked good and was happy when we left.
>
> After we left the Rileys then again requested a special warranty which customers must normally agree to purchase prior to their installation. We were able to reach out to our warranty company after the installation and spent extra effort securing the option of the warranty for the Rileys, but the Rileys decided not to respond to my email or voicemail for 2 weeks. The Rileys then requested that we (Tops) cover it for them. Unfortunately, the warranty company was unwilling to fulfill such a request after awaiting a response from the Rileys for 2 weeks.
>
> Despite all of this, Tops continues to stand behind our standard 1-year workmanship warranty and Mrs. Riley is always welcome to reach out to us should they encounter any new issues with their countertops.
>
> Sincerely,
>
> Forrest Wilson

> As a contractor we have used Tops Solid Surface several times over the years for our projects. We stopped using them for a time after a bad fabrication that cost us a client, but used them again recently under their new ownership because we support small business in our community That was a mistake on our part to go back to Tops Solid. The product was poorly fabricated and seamed because they were lazy and seem to care more about quick and easy over quality. Once again, they lack vision that one needs when working with these products. You can buy the stone anywhere. Definitely reached our limit, and tired of apologizing to my clients for Tops Solid (Their install guys were great and did a good job with what they had to work with). Once they have your money, your screwed. We won't be using Tops Solid in the future. The new owner gets a zero as does his office staff.

> Their selection in house was really nice, we found what we needed for both bathrooms in the remnants, and found a beautiful granite in their warehouse for our kitchen, we love that they took the time to give us a tour of their facility which made us both feel comfortable working with them, very friendly and informative about their processes etc.

**★★★★★ — HU-630858724, Feb. 2021**

> We love this company. They did new quartz countertops for our large kitchen, office, mudroom and three bathrooms and came out for six different times to measure, demo and install. They were prompt, friendly, efficient and did terrific work.

**★★★★★ — HU-990719877, Feb. 2021**

> Excellent job great work and great crew. Love my new countertops. Had excellent help at the store and would recommend them to all who need countertops.

**★★★★★ — HU-531109634, Feb. 2021**

> Great company. Easy to work with, helped make suggestions so we understand the product options. Large selection of products. Totally transferred my kitchen with granite countertops.

**Comment from Tops Solid Surface:**

> Thank you for sharing your experience! We hope you are enjoying your new countertops.

**★ — HU-657003981, Dec. 2020**

> My initial experience with the company was a good one. The staff was very responsive and helpful. However, when my counters were installed there were multiple issues. Not with the staff but with the installation and the counters. When installing the sink, holes were drilled through my cabinet. The side of the counter that went against a wall was cut crooked. When I asked about it I was told it is standard and done to make sure the counter can be placed with minimal damage to the stove or cabinets. However, my stove can be moved, therefore, there would not have been any issues getting the counter into that space. I had not intended on extending my backsplash out to the corner of the counter but because of the crooked cut I was forced to and now it looks tacky and I am extremely upset about it. After speaking with multiple people in the industry I was told that the counter should not have been cut like that and should have been straight. Beside that the installation was the counters in my opinion was sloppy. The island looked like it was floating and the counters were not straight. Those issues were fixed by the company however, I would not recommend this company for the mere fact that I feel the crookedness of the counter was a defect and instead of owning up to it and telling me they acted as if it was standard causing me to not send the slab back and now it looks horrendous.

**Comment from Tops Solid Surface:**

> We appreciate your feedback and strive to offer the best customer service possible, as well as good processes from start to finish. This information will be shared with our Management Team to try and improve on future processes.

**★★★★★ — HU-839949565, March 2019**

> Love my counter tops! Samantha was very professional and had outstanding customer service. I highly recommend them. They were very timely and finished in record time.

**Comment from Tops Solid Surface:**

> We are happy that you are happy with your project! Thank you for choosing Tops!

**★★★★★ — HU-980090774, Nov. 2018**

> Superior product and expert craftsmanship. Customer service is top-notch and pricing is very good. When we enlarged the window above the sink in the kitchen, Tops Solid Surface crafted a window sill of the same material as our countertops to give us a unified and beautiful kitchen. Thank you, everyone, at Tops. I will call you again and again for our kitchen and bath remodel needs.

**Comment from Tops Solid Surface:**

> Thank you for choosing Tops for your windowsill. We are glad that we were able to help finish off your kitchen.
>
> Enjoy your space, and we look forward to working with you again in the future!

**★★★★★ — Lorraine Sullivan, Oct. 2018**

> Very professional. Great people to work with. Counter top cut and installed beautifully. This is the third time we have used Tops.

**Comment from Tops Solid Surface:**

> Thank you for your kind words Lorraine! We are proud and appreciate your repeated business with us!
