> BE CAREFUL AT THE START!
> After an initial phone call Jamie suggested I hire him just for an initial consulting visit instead of the free estimate appointment. He came out, walked the yard for 20 minutes, took no measurements or pictures and requested the $150 fee before departing. He said he would be providing feedback via email in a few days so I paid the fee.
>
> The email he sent 2 weeks later (after much prodding) was simply an estimate of the cost to hire him to design and perform the work. The email had zero ideas listed nor any information on a plan for us to consider.
>
> As it turns out, he disguised a free appointment fee as a consulting fee. Our assumption is that he A. Never took the time to consider ideas during the 2 weeks we waited and B. assumed we were just moving forward with him so the initial consult was unnecessary.
>
> When challenged on it he simply said he doesn’t give refunds nor could he justify the fee with evidence that any consulting took place.

> LandArc Landscaping & Design is very detailed and professional in their work. Jamie Whitney listens to your concerns and he designs and produces high quality work. He built a deck rail system on my back deck and made a beautiful fence to fence in the garden area where I work at Willamette Christian School. He is very pleasant to work with and would gladly rehire him for my next project.

**Comment from LandArc Landscaping & Design:**

> Thank you for taking the time to post this positive review! It was so fun to work with you and The Willamette Christian Church. Maybe we’ll see you at the Good Earth Home Show? The LandArc booth will be there!

**★★★★★ — Alain Rebeyrol, Dec. 2018**

> As an architect I believe that a project is not complete without an integrated landscaping design. I chose to work with LandArc because it is easy to communicate with Jamie Whitney and his employees. The landscaping design are always tailored to the site requirements and the sensitivity of the our joint clients. The quality of the landscape designs are maintained through the quality of the installation and the choice of plants are always conscious of the local character of the environment, as well as the need to minimize water usage and future maintenance.

**Comment from LandArc Landscaping & Design:**

> Thank you very much for this positive review Alain! It is a pleasure to work together to unify the building architecture with the Landscape architecture. Looking forward to more collaboration in 2019!

**★★★★★ — Michael Coulbourne, Dec. 2018**

> Thanks to Jamie and LandArc for helping us to enhance our landscaping! We had a general idea of what we wanted. With Jamie's knowledge, and especially his creativity, the end result far exceeded our expectations. Highly recommend!

**Comment from LandArc Landscaping & Design:**

> Thank you Michael for recommending LandArc! We enjoyed working with you to enhance your property.

**★★★★★ — Chris Arends, Nov. 2018**

> Jamie and his team were working on a site near us that looked great, and I met him again at a Home and Garden show in Eugene. I interviewed three potential Landscape companies, and Jamie best understood our vision, budget, and timeline. Jamie and the two workers he used were very friendly, extremely hard working, and finished faster than I expected. The new ~75' retaining wall and fence looks great, and should last for many decades. I will likely use LandArc again for future projects.

**Comment from LandArc Landscaping & Design:**

> Thank you, Chris, for the positive review! It was a pleasure to work with you on this project and I am looking forward to the next phase when you are ready. We will be at the Good Earth Show in January 2019. Maybe we will see you there?

> Wow! What a talented designer Jamie Whitney is. A true professional being a landscape architect grad. His designs are creative but practical. His work is beautifully executed with a real eye for detail. He is hard working and reliable. If you want a job that stands out Landarc is the one to choose.

> Jamie provided a well thought out landscaping plan to use at my house. I can't wait to put the project in motion. Thank you!

**★★★★★ — jessica\_l\_jones, Nov. 2015**

> We had a GREAT experience working with Jamie at LandArc! He provided us with clear plans, estimates, and timelines up front - and stuck to them! He also gave us multiple options when we weren't sure what we wanted. Jamie was always here when he said he would be and everything turned out just as we had hoped! Our front and back yards, our new fence, and our new deck all look fantastic.

**Comment from LandArc Landscaping & Design:**

> I am glad that you had a positive experience working with LandArc. The feeling was mutual. I couldn't have asked for better customers! I hope you enjoy your new landscape!!

> Good work. Put up with fussy neighbors. Will look even better in a few years, especially liked the brickwork and fig tree

**Comment from LandArc Landscaping & Design:**

> Your neighbors have positive intentions. They simply want to keep the standards high in the neighborhood. I am glad that we were successful at providing a highly aesthetic and functional landscape for you and your neighbors to enjoy.

**★★★★★ — Jennifer Weber, May 2015**

> Landarc Landscape and Design completely understood my vision for two separate fencing projects on my property. Both fences were constructed, quickly, beautifully and skillfully. One afternoon, I noticed that one of the boards was bent slightly and I made a mental note to mention it, but by the time I saw Jamie the next day, he had already replaced it before I had a chance to notice. I would definitely hire this company again.

**Comment from LandArc Landscaping & Design:**

> Thank you, Jennifer, for posting this positive review. I am glad that you are enjoying your new fence. It was a pleasure to work with you!

**★★★★★ — jbuhmann, April 2015**

> Jamie was prompt in his response to my bid request. His proposal was detailed and clear how he arrived at the price. He modified the proposal based on further conversations we had. The construction of the fence proceeded at a good pace, and communication was good. I am very happy with the results and the design help I received.

  - Description: Plants bring life into the landscape. They provide food, medicine, habitat, oxygen, shade, color, texture, and architectural form. A native plant pallet is preferred in most landscape designs, since natives have adapted over time to the local climate and soils. Native plants require less maintenance and conserve on water use. The local wildlife (butterflies, bees, birds, etc.) are more adapted to native plants as a food source and habitat. However, non-native plants do have a place in the landsc…

## Community Q&A

**Q: How is galvanized steel panel attached?** *(in Photo Questions)*

We are looking to doing similar railing and are wondering how the steel panels are attached to the frame of the deck? Is there a special way to do it?

A: The panel is bound between the 2x4 rail and the 1x4 trim and secured with deck screws. Holes were drilled in the posts to support the sides, making a clean line along the cedar posts. Thanks for the question, Lauren!

**Q: What is the wire grid called? I've heard it called remesh.** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: This wire grid has various names, depending on who you are talking to. Generally, it is called Galvanized Cattle Panel or Hi-Five Fence Panel. You can find it in 16' length x 5' height.

**Q: Good Evening, where can I get the galvanized fencing from?** *(in Photo Questions)*

I live in Canada and have been unable to find the galvanized panels, any help you could give me would be very much appreciated,
Many thanks

A: Hello Sharron,
I am Canadian, but currently live in Oregon. I am not sure of the distributors for this product in Canada. Look for hog panel or cattle panel galvanized fence material. Another is Hi-Five 4 gauge wire fence panels. Good luck!
