> Buying a Senergy home with an Atlasta-installed solar system seemed like a great, energy-efficient move, but the third-party solar lease attached to the property has turned into a absolute nightmare now that I am trying to sell my home. Because a corporate financing company owns the panels, future buyers are forced to qualify for and legally assume a rigid, decades-long contract with built-in annual price escalators. This has actively driven away multiple qualified buyers who refuse to take on the extra liability, completely stalling my home sale. If you want to sell, your only other option is to pay a massive out-of-pocket buyout fee of $15,000 to $25,000 just to clear your own roof title. Senergy builds an ok quaility structure, but their decision to tie these homes to restrictive third-party leases creates a massive, long-term financial trap for homeowners down the road. Demand to buy the panels outright up front, or walk away.
