James Barker did the drawings and reconfigured the spaces converting a one bedroom apartment into a two bedroom apartment, reconfiguring another apartment to better maximize the living space, and added two decks to the upstairs unit. > > Nichole Decoteau created the elevation drawings for the contractor, added much needed closets throughout the units without sacrificing space and picked out all the finishes (flooring, countertops, tile, cabinet pulls, lighting fixtures). She also furnished one of the units per our request. Each apartment has a unique look and feel. > > They regularly monitored the progress of the renovation and gave critical input to our contractor when issues arose and there were many given the complexity of three apartments in and old Edwardian. The apartments look amazing and their results are evident with the following statistics - we had over 200 inquiries within 12 hours of posting the three units for rent on Zillow and over 40 qualified and completed applications within 5 hours of the open house. To make things even more complicated, she was inheriting an existing project for one of them. She took everything in stride, delivering unique, top-quality work for both projects. She juggled overlapping schedules, suppliers, and unexpected change orders with ease. Her recommendations around structural changes, layout, and furniture considered both beauty and function. She was able to take a rather vague prompt of "Asian-inspired beach house" and come up with a plan that exactly matched our vision. You can see finished photos of that project in the "Coastal Chic" album. Nicole is everything you want in a designer.
