**Q: Help choosing granite color** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Any suggestions for a granite color that would complement these cabinets and this backsplash?  I'd like to replace the countertop, range, sink, etc. and would appreciate suggestions on what would look best with these colors and materials.  The backsplash is blue/green glass. Thanks so much!

A: I'd suggest keeping it neutral, you don't want to take away from the tile. White, very light grey....something along those lines.

**Q: What color to paint my kitchen?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

My old kitchen has a lot of wood and I'm not a big fan of it. What color should I paint it to make the wood less of an eye sore. I still want the room to be warm. Would Seattle Mist or Nimbus by BM work?

A: Are you asking about painting the walls or the cabinetry?

Getting ready to buy new bedroom furniture.  It would be easier to just buy a suite but is that the way to go?  I like the cottage style.  If any pieces are to match, which ones?

A: Definitely mix. You don't want it to look like you did one stop shopping and your room is the set of a catalog. The photos posted above are excellent.

**Q: What color should I paint brick?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

What color should I paint brick? And shutters. I am changing the shutters to arched shutters. Also I am replacing the door with a double  8ft door and keeping only the arched transom. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

A: You can't go wrong with Farrow & Ball. Choose a color then use a lighter shade of the same color for the window trim. It will add extra dimension and interest similar to what we did here:

**Q: How do I make this foyer more welcoming and attractive?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Please help me with this entry. I use the shelf and drawers all the time, but don't like the look. Where to hang a new mirror? Should I do a bench? Just a console table? Nothing on floor? Pictures? Paint light or dark? I'd like it to be classy but warm and welcome at the same time.
