> In my opinion, Kootenia Homes subjects its clients to frivolous lawsuits, in which Kootenia jeopardizes the safety of the defendants and their children by surveilling them without their consent (including photos of small children in swimsuits) because Kootenia would rather enter litigation with a client than take responsibility for a subpar product. In my opinion, Kootenia should be ashamed of themselves for risking the safety and well-being of clients after demonstrating shoddy craftsmanship and attention to detail. In my opinion, prospective clients should use literally anyone else.

> While the house floor plans and curb appeal are well done, they don’t execute well. The interior designer made a number of mistakes and we had to live with them because they don’t have a good sign off process. The build quality varies greatly and we had over 30 warranty issues that are still not all fixed. Last, the quality of matériels was not what was promised in the purchase agreement, so we are having to file a complaint with the State of MN.

> We bought a new house and wanted to remodel before moving in. Work done: tear out all closets, install new professional (this was sub contracted out and turned out great), painting of most rooms, kitchen island re-enamel, new kitchen backsplash and hood build up and all wood floors sanded and restrained darker shade. They had a specific deadline that they said they would have no problem hitting so that we could move in. They did not finish on time, they did not clean or have cleaners come in to clean up before we moved in (there was dust everywhere from the floor sanding and their contractors were in the house for about 45 days working- without cleaning up after them). The worst thing is that the floors were supposed to be a dark brown and actually came out pink. Also their guys were sloppy and got the stain all over the shoe mold on the floor boards (when they should have removed the molding before staining and then reattach them after). They had to redo the floors after we moved in- so we had more dust everywhere. We felt that David was very hands off throughout the process which was a major problem. Yes they redid the floors and yes we got a little knocked off the bill but I would much rather have preferred to get great service that we paid for so I didn't have to be the General Contractor on site. Would not use again.

Appliances started to break down one by one, until we were left with one working burner on the cooktop and a microwave, so we had no choice, but to get the kitchen remodeled. We looked at several remodeling companies and finally hired Michael Lee. Their team is professional and respectful. They worked with us every step of the way, making the dreaded project much less daunting! They offered great feedback where needed. All their contractors were very respectful and attentive. There were a few concerns along the way which were addressed professionally and in a timely manner. Overall, we had a good experience with Michael Lee and were able to have our kitchen in time for Thanksgiving!

I am trying to update my kitchen with a new countertop and stainless appliances. What do you think of these? There are 3 different ones shot 2 different ways. Cambria Crowndale, Viatera Lento (Gray one), and Viatera Aria (with some black veining).

A: Viatera Aria (with some black veining) would be a brave move and give the kitchen personality the other just okay but safer
