## About

My grandfather and great uncle started Olson Lumber Company in the 1930's in the Los Angeles area. My grandfather was a furniture maker and a carpenter, who taught those trades to my father, who in turn passed them on to me.

We use our "old school" experiences and apply those to modern materials and techniques to provide everything from large room additions and remodels to historic preservations.

Serving San Diego County since 1994, we are a hands-on family owned, owner-operated general contracting business. We specialize in complete home renovations, kitchen and bath remodeling, as well as room additions of any size.

> Jim Olson just completed rebuilding our master bath, which had extensive damage from years of water leakage at the shower faucets and shower pan. Jim had to tear down the bathroom to the studs and rebuild the floor and shower frame. He found further damage in my closet and rebuilt that as well and without charging extra fees. Every detail came out beautifully. Jim is highly skilled, reliable (he never missed a day), cleaned up at the end of every workday and was amiable, a pleasure to work with. He has a team of artisans. I never thought I could enjoy a construction project, but I did. Every day of it. I recommend Jim with enthusiasm. Photos to follow.

> Jim completely gutted and renovated one bathroom and partially renovated another bathroom. There were NO overruns on his bid and the only extra charges, which were discussed in advance, were for additional things we asked him to do, outside of his original bid.  He and his crew were very pleasant to work with and were respectful of our privacy.  The project took longer than expected, but that was not really due to Jim and his crew.  We had asked him to do one bathroom at a time, which altered the timing, but did not affect the cost, to minimize disruption, as the bathrooms were at opposite ends of the house.  Jim and his crew worked very well with our designer and were complimentary of her drawings. Jim made suggestions, along with our designer, to address concerns we had and was very clear re: what would be easy to accomplish, what would be difficult, and at what cost.  (Note: while Jim had worked with our designer before, each was recommended to us separately.). We are very pleased with the results of Jim's work.
