Owner Bruce Antognini envisions and designs all of the Great Backyard's beautiful outdoor spaces. He regularly attends and oversees all stages of work for every job. It's common to find Bruce putting his own labor into developing projects alongside fellow company installers, ensuring every detail is just right.

Bruce and the Great Backyard work with all elements of both front and back yards. Very dedicated to please all past, current and future clients by keeping high standards of respect for listening to what concerns and or wishes a client may have for their space.

 All designs are created to compliment the natural beauty of the many diverse locations of the S.F. Bay area, keeping a very organic yet contemporary feel. 
Working with mostly native species of plants found throughout the region. Not only does our company believe care and satisfaction for the client are most important, but care for the environment and habitats of every space is taken into deep consideration. Supporting nature by conserving water and inviting vital species of pollinators and other creatures by plant choices are just standards of our company. Giving clients the ability to own a piece nature in their own yard.

> Bruce did a great job helping us turn a plan on paper to a beautifully hardscaped yard, including smoothing out hills, laying paths, adding weed-preventive paper and applying mulch throughout. His bid was competitive and he worked with us to keep our costs as low as possible. He designed and installed a 6-station irrigation system that is probably better than a design we might have tried to come up with ourselves, and spent the time necessary to walk the yard with us and explain where all the zones and valves were installed and controlled.. His crew also installed and set up irrigation for a few of the larger plants in our design, and they are all doing well. The crew was friendly and professional, and they cleaned the site thoroughly before they left.

> A couple negatives: one of the trees was hooked up to the wrong watering zone, and this hasn't been fixed yet despite repeated requests. (To be fair, we told him it was a low priority for us until now. But we are currently preparing to do the rest of the planting, so we are hoping he will follow up soon.) Also, we noticed a pool of water near a tree shortly after the job was finished, and it turned out a valve had been left open and water had been running steadily for a few days. He fixed that very promptly after we reported the problem.
