For those who are remodeling kitchens or bathrooms, you definitely need help from a designer. Importantly, she was able to accept my choices even when she originally recommended a different approach, which is very important in a designer since you will never completely agree on everything. We started our remodel before moving in while living in another state. Tracy was our designer. We needed a new front door. I asked Tracy if we could get a double. She met with contractor on site, and the contractor said nope. Ok, fine. So I need size and swing of the door. I was pretty sure door should be a right swing (from outside) as there was a wall on the right and open on left. She tells me swing left! Are you sure? Yes, there's plenty of room; you can decorate the wall; blah blah blah. Well, we are 1300 miles away, so I order door, it gets installed. What a rooky mistake! There's only 1 foot to the right of the door, so it must be open beyond 90 to let someone enter comfortably, and people all feel like they're being pushed into the wall. I've been asked many times why the door doesn't swing the other way. Grrrrrrr. So now we need to order a new door and have it installed estimate around 3k total (only because not a real expensive door). Add to her other mistakes in function and orders.
