**★★★★★ — Barbara Smith Homes, Nov. 2019**

> I highly recommend Designs of the Interior. They just completed the installation of our home and patios in Montecito and like many of her clients, it’s the second home Designs of the Interior has done for us. It is so comfortable and beautiful and our friends rave about it! In addition, I always know where I stand with my budget and delivery time lines.

**Comment from Santa Barbara Designs of the Interior:**

> We love working with you and Bob! It's so rewarding for us to know we've captured your taste and lifestyle in our interior design, to create such an amazingly beautiful home. We couldn't be more proud and pleased!

**★★★★★ — Laurie Goldey, Aug. 2019**

> Had a great experience working with the team (Carla, Marcella and Karen). I loved the designs and suggestions for our entire first floor. They were accommodating when certain items didn't work out and did their best in providing alternatives and rectifying issues that ultimately would come up with a large makeover. Highly recommend!!

**Comment from Santa Barbara Designs of the Interior:**

> Laurie, we loved working with you throughout your entire remodel project! With the new configuration and furnishings, you can entertain and live just the way we imagined together. Your home looks fantastic!

**★★★★★ — Carol Schmidt, Oct. 2018**

> We had a wonderful experience with Designs of the Interior! Karen, Carla, and the group were professional, courteous, organized, trustworthy, and extremely committed to determining our needs and our tastes in design. We felt their pricing was fair and their attention to detail superb. We would use them again in a heartbeat!!

**Comment from Santa Barbara Designs of the Interior:**

> We loved working with you and your family, Carol, and we're so glad you and David are pleased!

**★★★★★ — LORI YACOBIAN, May 2018**

> I fall in love with my home every time I walk in the door. Karen and Carla took my collection of torn out magazine pages and created a design more beautiful than anything I imagined. We did a three stage redo. It took a little over a year to do the entire house. They are so fun and easy to work with.

**★★★★★ — Judy Arnold, March 2017**

> we are so pleased with Designs of the Interior. We worked with Genaro and loved everything he did. He was able to work within our budgets and gave us beautiful rooms.

**★★★★★ — Julie Gerhardt, Feb. 2017**

> I've been working with designs of the interior for 3 years now !! I was hooked after my first project I wanted the WOW factor for my powder room and I got it and much more and with the rest of my home !!I I walk in my home still everyday feeling so lucky that I met this amazing team that truly listens to what you want and takes care of you. They become your family and you can't wait to start another project !! So so happy Julie & Cary

**★★★★★ — Linda Zimmer, Feb. 2017**

> Designs of the Interior are an amazing team. I first met them thru my membership with Pasadena Showcase House for the Arts. When it came to updating my kitchen and living room they were the ONLY people I called. Why look around when they are truly the best. Genaro was my personal designer and a dream to work with. We had so much fun and the results were stunning. I have had friends tell me that they think they are in a New York Penthouse in Manhattan when in my home. That was the exact feel I was going for. Genaro and the team are now putting plans together to renovate my master bedroom and bath. Can't wait to get started!!!

 - Description: Our biggest challenge in this interior design project was to transform a dreary, dark room into a light, bright and cheerful space that would welcome one person or a large gathering. The overabundance of wood in the room was balanced with fabric, stone, iron, crystal and an over scaled custom rug. To avoid looking overly formal, our 12’ custom sofa is two chaise lounge chairs—yes, you’re allowed to put up your feet! Several other vignettes within the room added coziness--difficult to achieve in…

## Community Q&A

**Q: what color are the walls?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Love the little bit of warmness the walls have!

A: Hi! Paint is so important, and should be chosen after the fabrics and rugs are finalized, for the perfect shade to tie the room together. In this room, we used a warm neutral from Dunn Edwards. Since you may not have the entire paint sample box like we do, I recommend you go to their website to get you going in the right direction, and then purchase small can samples to paint on your walls to be sure it looks right. Put 3 coats on, to completely cover the existing paint, or that color will bleed through and change the color of your sample. I hope this helps!

Karen

**Q: beautiful entry** *(in Photo Questions)*

Hello, can you share the source for the chest? Absolutely stunning! Thank you.

A: Hi Lynne, this chest is from one of my many vendors that I use in my interior design projects. I could see if it is still available, and could order one for you, if you would like me to.

Karen

**Q: love this floor. wood or tile? color?** *(in Photo Questions)*

I love the entire design of this kitchen. I have a countertop similar in color but struggle with the floor choices I’ve seen

A: Hi Sue, i’m so glad you like our kitchen. That is a hardwood floor with slight distressing, 8 inch wide planks. You should be able to find this and some of the better hardwood floor suppliers. Good luck! Please let us know if we can help you with your project…

Karen

**Q: love the pendant lights** *(in Photo Questions)*

Where did you get the pendant lights?

A: Hi Jennifer, I'm glad you like the pendant lights, they are the finishing touch to a crisp, updated kitchen. We have hundreds of resources within our design firm for our projects, so we sell those pendants. I just checked on them, and they are in stock, are 14" dia x 28" ht, and are $819 each. Give us a call if you would to order some, and I'd love to hear about your project! --Karen

**Q: gorgeous mirror** *(in Photo Questions)*

I was wondering where this mirrored panel is from!! And is there a name for this style??

A: Hi Joey, thanks for loving our mirror in the Petite Lounge we designed! The black edges are tile with brass inset for the pattern, and the mirror was purchased from a glass and mirror store, cut to size. The quatrefoil pattern in the tile is an updated take on old patterns seen in Gothic, Myan and Islamic cultures, and throughout history. Our design was a nod to decor seen in the 1920's, which was the age of this home, with an updated twist.

**Q: Where can I get the person on the wall?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Thanks for your question. The person on the wall (towel holder) was found at a small art festival, so we don't know how to find another. It is unique though, and goes well with the artsy vibe of the entire home.
