We first engaged their service back in September 2021 and the project is still not complete. I wouldn't wish this company's services on my worst enemy. Here are the reasons why I am extremely dissatisfied: > > 1\. Poor Communication: David displayed a complete lack of professionalism when it came to communication. He continually ignored phone calls, messages and emails. He is a misogynist, who has no respect for women. After many failed attempts my husband and I consulted with David’s wife Tamara. Initially she was responsive but eventually was as equally as bad as David. They were consistently unresponsive to our calls and emails, leaving us in the dark about important project details and updates. It felt like pulling teeth trying to get any information from them. > > 2\. Unreliable and Inconsistent Workmanship: The quality of the work performed was nothing short of abysmal. The glass was measured incorrectly and is unsafe as the glass is too short and not secured properly, the flooring is uneven, the pergola and outdoor kitchen area are riddled with issues, including leaks, exposed electrically wires and shoddy installation. It was clear that they had taken shortcuts and had a complete disregard for quality craftsmanship. We have been left with a rooftop that requires immediate repairs, costing even more money. > > 3\. We paid for them to purchase new doors, TV’s, grill an expensive outdoor couch from reputable company as they apparently have a warehouse to store these goods until the rooftop was completed. LIES!!!They kept promising to deliver these goods. NEVER HAPPENED! I finally called the furniture company to be told that the order had never been placed. I called Tamara to discuss this and after a week of lying to me that the order had been placed she finally admitted that it hadn’t, and that they had spent the money for PERSONAL USE!!! We have not received any of the goods we paid for!! > > 4.Missed Deadlines: They not only failed to meet the initial project deadline, but they also consistently missed subsequent deadlines they set themselves. This caused significant delays and inconveniences for my husband and I. Their inability to adhere to their own schedule demonstrated a lack of professionalism and respect for their clients' time. > > 5\. Lack of Accountability: Despite the glaring issues with their work, they showed no willingness to take responsibility for their mistakes. When we brought up our concerns and requested repairs, they were dismissive and uncooperative. It was clear that customer satisfaction was not a priority for them. > I strongly advise against hiring for any roofing project. Couldn’t careless about doing timely fixes or responding or showing up to their appointments. Always would take months for a repair. Our latest, because there’s always something to repair with this deck, is our gate. They’ve fixed it 3 times in our 3 year relationship. Their latest “fix” was aligning the gate to open up 2” and hit a chimney. Pathetic workmanship. Couldn’t work with the owner, Dave, because he was way too volatile and unprofessional. I’m being kind here. I’d say more but I’ve already wasted so much energy on these people. Absolutely obscene to work with. He will tell you his cell phone number goes to his 10 year child and will block your calls. He is the furtherest from a professional and has no integrity. Only positive is the ladies who answer the offfice phone are polite, they prove to be unhelpful as it is a one man show and David isn’t reliable. The roof measurements were all wrong, he "designed" one large deck covering the whole roof with dividing walls (not what we said we wanted). > NO engineering report of any kind. We we tried to contact him to find out what was going on with the report, to express that this was not what we wanted, he became abusive and very erratic in his behavior. > We made two appointments for him to come by and remeasure the roof and meet with each owner. He never showed up and never returned any e-mails or phone calls. At this point it became clear this was a scam. > After showing up at his office, we finally got our money back. > STAY AWAY. A: Porcelain and Marble stone are used in this project. I do not know if this material can be mounted on a fully suspended frame 20 ft long. It would depend on the structure of the frame and how it's attached. Weight load and gravity would certainly come in to play. **Q: Love the patio but...** *(in Photo Questions)* Absolutely gorgeous roof top patio but you might want to double check the photoshop editing job on the image. Specifically the clone stamp on the deck area. Feel free to remove my comment. A: Appreciate the heads up on the photo shop issue. Color?** *(in Photo Questions)* A: This is IPE decking. **Q: Need Help Refreshing Exterior Of Our House** *(in Design Dilemma)* Our house is a plain, gambrel-style house that was recently updated on the inside. We haven't quite figured out what to do with the exterior. I (personally) hate the white siding with black trim and would love to spruce it up (i.e. change color, do something about the trim, etc.) Was hoping to get some ideas with the help of everyone's creative eye! (P.S. - please excuse the photo, it was taken using Google...) A: hi i'm David Salerno, New York Roofscapes, Inc. - I would recommend returning this home to a Craftsman-style by opening the front porch, using natural siding (cedar shakes,) and wrapping the porch around the right--side to the wide open side and backyard. Eliminating the windows in front and opening the home to the outdoors will not only enhance the curb-appeal but will connect it to a beautiful, private outdoor space...pool, patio, deck. The garage could be converted to a cabana facing the pool, with sleep-sofa and flat-screen for added living space. **Q: Expand Balcony DEck** *(in Design Dilemma)* Hello, At present we have a 8’ X 16’ balcony with a beautiful view of Georgian bay, sitting up on secondary escarpment. However our family has grown and we can only seat 4 people and our BBQ. The issue is the tile bed runs out directly in front of house. We would like to widen deck by 4’ to other set of windows and extend out an additional 8’ . I have sent pictures and architect's drawing and site plan. The septic tank is located directly under outdoor fireplace. The tile runs are off the present deck. Please advise. Another nice idea would be to cover the new, enlarged upper deck with a rubber membrane and decking - making the area underneath a water-proof (ceiling and recessed lighting optional) outdoor space. Also, have you given any thought to glass railings to eliminate the 'playpen' feeling, enhancing your view down the escarpment, and making the deck feel bigger and more open to the surrounding trees and landscape? I dont love the yellow vinyl siding but new siding isn't in the budget right now. Im thinking of removing the black shutters and adding window boxes. Any ideas as far as landscaping? A: Have you given any thought to a Front Porch with a lush, low hedge-row of Boxwoods and Beach-grass? No Railings are necessary, as the Porch would be low enough to grade. Combined with a broad cascading step out front - from porch to grade, this would eliminate "the blank-slate" appearance. You could even create a wrap-around porch, broading the 'base' around the home and creating a sense that the home is larger and on a 'pedestal.' The Porch-deck would provide a beautiful (inexpensive) architectural addition that would add to living space and create a unique setting for landscaping and enjoying the outdoors.
