The original kitchen was very small, had an awkward breakfast nook added at some point, lowered ceilings, and was adjacent to a small hallway with 4 doors. Tyler Van Rensaeller of KDW created many CAD designs until we found one that worked. His prior experience working on boat design certainly helped. The resulting kitchen is true to the architecture of the house, but very functional with loads of storage, 10 ft ceilings, and an open flow from the DR and FR. The floor was specified by the homeowner and installed by the general contractor and we don’t know all the resources…but we think it was new flooring wood that was hand-scraped to give it the look of reclaimed wood and then custom stained in a dark finish. **Q: Is the painted wood sideboard custom or purchased?** *(in Photo Questions)* Looking for extra storage.
