Matt Faulkner has collaborated with me on many projects over the last year and has been stellar in all. > > We did a rooftop garden in Bel Air with a suspended tile floor that had no area drains. The 1/8th inch gap between the pavers allowed the water to fall to the sub roof below where it was carried away to the down spout system. Matt collaborated with the design team to create an innovative suspension system that work perfectly and saved the owner money. > > We then built a Zen like entrance to a home in Sherman Oaks using a porcelain tile grid system where 1 1/2 white river rock separated the tile areas. Under the river rock we installed a french drain system that evacuated the water to the street. Once again no unsightly area drains. Matt worked with me and a plumbing engineer and the plumber to create a truly unique project. > > Probably our most unique collaboration was to build a Hobbit House in Westlake. Matt helped design and build a subterranean cinder block room that had a sod roof, was completely waterproof and used a french drain system.
