Curran and Co. Architects was founded in 2014 by J.P. Curran and is based in Des Moines, IA. The firm offers professional design services for custom residential and light commercial projects. Our work experience includes single family new construction, single family additions and renovations, community buildings, and adaptive re-use projects. 

Our approach to every project, small or large, draws on inspiration from the client and thoughtful consideration of the site and its immediate surroundings. Once the vision has been established, the creative process begins with hand drawn plans, elevations, and thumbnail sketches. We integrate the design and details into construction drawings and provide guidance for implementation during the construction phase.

> J.P. worked with us to design our custom home from, literally, a blank sheet of paper. To say he got it right would be an understatement. Not only do we enjoy driving up to and living in our home every day, we're constantly reminded of how much went into designing the space so it just made sense. Things are where you expect or need them to be at virtually every turn, and the seemingly minor details that J.P. added into our plan are pleasantly noticeable without being overwhelming. Our friends and family seem to agree based on their commentary when they visit, as well.

> More than just the end result, J.P. was great to work with through every stage of the project. He really listened to and learned about us in order to design a home that was ours, vs. just a home that he thought we would like. He was patient and responsive through our subsequent revisions, helped us solve layout puzzles while keeping an eye to structural and mechanical considerations, and stayed engaged with the project during construction to help us and our GC with field decisions and adjustments that simply weren't foreseeable on paper. We felt comfortable thinking of him as an advisor and advocate during some of the inevitable speed bumps we hit during construction as well.

I love the color scheme of the house. Can you tell me the house paint color and trim

A: Unfortunately this project has been archived and we don't have records of the final color selections.  Without diving into archives, this lot was over 200' deep.

Hi; can you tell me the manufacturer of your big black windows and entry door?
Also the height of the windows and doors and ceiling height please.

A: The steel windows and doors were manufactured by a local fabricator here in the Atlanta metro.  The ceiling height is 11'

A: This stair was custom design and fabricated by a local steel and metal fabricator.

**Q: What is the material on the fireplace? It's great!** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: These panels were fabricated by a local concrete artisan.

**Q: where can I find these chairs ?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: We were the architects for this project and unfortunately do not have that information.

What was the floor stain used on these gorgeous floors?

A: Unfortunately we don't have that information in our records.  We do like using Rubio Monocoat's line of stains.  They have many color options and protect the wood with a single coat.
