> Talented and Creative Architect. Fun to work with. Listens to clients and collaborates well with the other professionals on the design team.

> Stephen is a phenomenal architect, gifted with insight and possessing all the technical abilities anyone needs. He designed and managed a significant remodel of our Seattle home in the Magnolia neighborhood, including new second level master suite and master bath, kitchen, dining room, living room, utility room, and recreational room.
>
> Our tiny galley kitchen became usable with removal of a wall that opened the space to the dining room and addition of a freestanding granite island. New wood-framed glass double pocket doors were added to transition to the living room, where a new hand venetian-finished fireplace surround and hearth added a delightful focal point and artistic flair. The master bath changed a dark "toilet, tub and sink" to a large open tiled shower, built-in custom designed high-cabinet and matching sink cabinet with stone tops. The utility room was resurfaced, opened up and functionalized. The unused recreation room was changed from a dark inexpensively paneled room to an open, lighter space with hand stained tongue and groove cedar wainscoting below painted walls, new flooring and ceiling materials.
>
> Stephen excelled at seeing beyond the existing room shapes and creating new spaces. He was always able to describe and diagram changes in 3D (by hand!), making it easy for us to understand and visualize what he was proposing. His working style is collaborative, getting his clients to what they want (and more).
>
> I saw Stephen's work on other projects that were far more complex and artistic than our remodel, and they were unique. beautiful, and functional.
>
> I would recommend Stephen to anyone looking for a true custom design that has flair, polish, and integrity. He'll deliver every time, cheerfully and helpfully.

> I had definite ideas as to what kind of house I would like to build and I wanted to find an architect who understood my ideas, could implement them, and improve upon them. I found all of that with Stephen Bobbitt. What was created is a unique living space that blends in well with the surrounding environment, is dramatic enough to be worthy of the exceptional piece of property where it now stands, and fully takes advantage of its commanding view of Puget Sound. All in all, my experience with working with Stephen Bobbitt was a pleasure, and adventure, and more to the point we created a house I love to live in. I highly recommend him as an architect.

> Stephen gave us great guidance from the very beginning, starting with encouraging us to bring the design team (contractor, interior design, landscaper) on board before we started our house remodel. Stephen guided the team and was very methodical in moving thru the project at a comfortable pace that worked for our schedule. He suggested several ideas that at first I/we were reluctant to embrace but oh my, they have become some of the most attractive and most used areas of the house. Stephen was very easy to work with. He listened carefully to our ideas and worked to incorporate them. When ideas didn't mesh with the program, he would explain, gently, why, under the physical constraints of the project they would be difficult to make happen. His creativity and ability to explain his points was so wonderful. We cannot say enough to express our appreciation for all he did for us. Photos of our home are provided under Stephen's "West Seattle home".

> we have done three major projects with Steve--a new home and two complete remodels.
> Steve listens to the client and develops a custom project reflective of the client's needs and wishes but with an exquisite eye for detail and a practical approach to avoid excessive costs.
> We have worked with two very experienced builders both of whom have been very complimentary of Steve's knowledge, professionalism and willingness to work closely with them see a project through to completion. His fees are very reasonable and he is responsive and a pleasure to work with. We can highly recommend him.

Can you tell me where to find the hanging lights over the island?

A: The lighting system was custom designed, using Juno brand track fixtures.

Lovely design! Wondering what floor material was used? Looks like bluestone?
