> I have had the pleasure of working with Leonia Azevedo from Bouchard Design for two kitchen renovations, in rather small and challenging spaces.
>
> The first renovation was at my home in 2016; we had a galley kitchen which adjoined the dining room but we didn’t want to open up the wall between the two as we like the formal, separate dining space for entertaining.    Leonia was able to create a lovely functional space with lots of very efficient storage.  She took care of all the details, helping us to select the colour palette for the kitchen and the adjoining dining and family rooms.   She presented us with a range of options for flooring, countertops, backsplash, cabinetry, hardware and appliances, explaining the levels of quality and the price points.  She created a big pantry with large pull out drawers that allow us to easily see and access the contents.   Other features include drawer organizers, a large Lazy Susan for the corner cabinet, and dividers in the deep cabinets over the fridge for storage of large trays, cookie sheets and chopping boards.  My favourite feature is a shallow full height cabinet beside the fridge that, in addition to containing a notice board, has multiple shelves for spices and taller oil and vinegar bottles.   We were very pleased with the outcome and our guests have been very impressed with the design, functionality and quality of our new kitchen!

> Last year, 2019,  we worked with Leonia again to renovate the kitchen in our cottage which is an A-frame with a very small existing kitchen footprint.   We didn’t have much room to expand but Leo maximized the space, creating flow with the rest of the great room.  Once again she provided the options for countertops, backsplash, cabinetry, hardware and appliances.   She advised us on the selection of colours and floorings for the entire cottage.   As this was a cottage with a narrow access road, Leo arranged for a “white glove” delivery service, ensuring that the moving van could actually access our property.    We are just delighted with the space and have received rave reviews for the changes that Leonia has helped us to make.

A: This is a maple species cabinet door in a stain by Cabico called Spice with Heirloom Black.  The Heirloom Black is the combination of a highlighting and brushed glaze in black over the Spice stain.
