With the evolution of sleek looking front-loading washer and dryer, bi-fold doors went away a while ago. This space still needed updating. The project eliminated the skirt wall that used to hold the bi-fold doors (this wall was not load-bearing). Ceiling height cabinetry was installed, washer/dryer were repositioned to the right, quartz work area installed above washer/dryer tops and short rod for hanging garments installed under the left cabinetry. Without the skirt wall, the powder-room/laundry is a larger space with more efficient and pleasant workspace. No more gallons of laundry detergent on the floor - everything is stored in the lovely new cabinets. I began by showing her my style via photos and ideas. She always replied immediately and totally understood what I wanted.
