## Community Q&A

**Q: Fireplace - White - wall color - or leave it alone?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

We have cathedral ceilings and painting the walls in BM Wheeling Neutral 50% with white ceilings and trim.  Really struggling with whether to paint fireplace and if so white, or wall color?  Appreciate any and all input for consideration

A: I would suggest an off-white, or a very dark brown.

**Q: Help with cabinet color** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I am refinishing my kitchen cabinets.  They are a natural maple, have a tumbled travertine back splash (cream and browns) and granite counters with cream, black, and brown colors.  I was thinking I would stain the cabinets grey, even though I know there is a big push in kitchens to have
white cabinets.  Any advice is welcome.

A: off-white, light gray,or a nice chocolate brown.

Living room is gray with page furniture would like to know what can I do to make it look alive is the rug in the pillow too much being that they match and what color can I throw in to make it look alive and fun

A: I would suggest de-cluttering, removing the items blocking the window and the plant, it is awfully large for the room, instead you can add an accent table beside the couch. I like the pink, you should use that pink as your accent color and bring in some art and accessories to match. If it is in your budget, I would change the window treatments to plain white and change the rug to something more sleek that better suits the space. Hope this helps!

**Q: Help for exterior colors** *(in Design Dilemma)*

We have just purchased a home in south Florida and I am looking for advise on exterior paint colors to go with the white roof color. Any ideas ???

A: I would paint the garage door and trims a french grey and the front door red.

Please help me with the wall color...

A: french gray

I do not think you should go white, unless you are going to do an off white.
