As newbies on a tight budget, we valued the advice that Jason gave us about granite vs. quartz, color, edging, island size and supports....everything we needed to know to make educated decisions. He quoted the project on site and didn't make any "additions" to his quote after the fact. The laser measurement technician was punctual and polite and obviously did a great job as the installers arrived two weeks later and had everything perfectly in place in less than two hours. Specifically almost 3 inches. It looks funny, cause and issue opening our lazy Susan cabinet. We think our only option at this point is to change the sink to something that might not be as thick? Any suggestions A: Julie, I template many kitchens on a monthly basis with farmhouse sinks. I always request that the sink be in place at the final measurement/template. So that I can see how it actually fits in the cabinet, as most cabinets are not designed with that particular sink in mind. Then I decide based on how the sink looks where the granite cuts should be done. You cannot simple go based off a paper template from manufacture to base your cuts off of. This way these kind of oversights are avoided. At this point the most important thing is to find a solution that you can live with and not go thru move inconvenience. If I was presented with this problem I would either take off 1/2-3/4 from back and fabricate and polish on site. The person doing this should be his most skilled fabricator and they should take extra measures to minimize dust/water mess. Or if you have the space and tolerance on overhangs. You could cut back 2-3" all the way to the end of faucet hole and set back the sink furthen, then redrill faucet hole. Careful planning and execution is crutial for this fix. good luck! -Jason **Q: Divided sink or one large sink?** *(in Polls)* Which is better for doing dishes and keeping things tidy? A: Single bowl sinks are very popular right now and clients have a lot of interest in them. Most of our clients 80% in Texas end up picking a DIVIDED sink! We own a single bowl in our house and I love it. I would advise that if you are remodeling your kitchen to sell in the very near future, then pick a large divided sink as it has move mass appeal for potential buyers. Believe it or not a single bowl sink would be a deal killer for some people. Remember once the undermount is cut.
