## Community Q&A

**Q: Would this stair design complement or compete with my fireplace?** *(in Photo Questions)*

I have a floor to ceiling river rock fireplace in a great room with a vaulted ceiling (21’). It is 6 feet wide at the bottom and tapers to 4’ above the mantel. The stairs wrap around behind the fireplace up to a loft that will require 2 lengths (10’ and 13’) of rail and balusters. I think it needs a rustic staircase, but don’t want it too heavy and boxy. Any advice?

A: It would compliment the fireplace. Its a simple yet interesting staircase. It will not overwhelm the fireplace.
