**Q: It's October, 2016. How is your build progressing?** *(in Building a Home)*

October- Apples, pumpkins, changing leaves, busy builders! September was a huge month here, and the builders are definitely busy. It's so nice to see so much activity after the doldrums of a few years ago. Our weather here in SC finally broke, with highs in the 70's for a few days- Yay!
As most of you know, these monthly threads are for you, gentle reader, to tell us (and hopefully show us) about the house you are building, or are about to build. We love it all- raw dirt, foundations, new framing, drywall- it's all eye candy to us! Please share, and share often as your special project comes together. No house is too simple, or too grand.

Spatial...what is a wellhaus? That's a deep question! HA. 
The original well for the property before water was available. It was the size of a dog house so we rebuilt it as a shed/workshop. We drained it, cleaned it out and will use it for the orchard and garden. The WellHaus is the name we gave it as it will be the furniture/art studio.

Hi Everyone,
We've started the design process for the forever house. Most likely a few years away form actually breaking ground. My other half want's walls that are 2 feet thick. Has anyone done anything like this? I'm thinking that ICF construction is going to be about the thickest we should do.. House is palladian villa ish about 6k sq ft. Will have bronze casement windows and a copper roof. Thanks for any advice.

A: I hope this thread keeps going, I have a similar approach for an addition that would in effect build a house around a house so that the existing house is livable during construction and after the addition is complete the existing will be "merged" with the new construction giving it very thick wall cavities for all types of fun stuff, mechanical, built ins, insulation, maybe a trombe wall, etc....
