> Being a long time collector of artist Gordon Smedt's unique and vibrant paintings, I am ecstatic at the opening of Whitney Modern, a stunning contemporary art gallery in downtown Los Gatos.  Whitney Modern displays not only Gordon's work, but an ecklectic array of other contemporary artists in mediums from photography to paint to glass to sculpture. The gallery's proprietor, Suzanne, has an eye for art that is fresh and engaging, a definite contrast to most of what I've seen in other local galleries.   I recently purchased a limited edition 1960's photograph of Bob Marley by the world-renowned photographer David Burnett and I will frequent this incredible space for inspiration once I free up more wall space.

> Whitney Modern is one of the finest art galleries I've been to in awhile. First and foremost, the gallery features a lovely collection of paintings, photographs and sculptures spanning a variety of styles that are sure to satisfy the tastes of any art lover. The work is spaced out nicely and the walls are not overly crowded. Adjacent works are positioned strategically to compliment one another in ways that make you want to take home your favorite piece and also the one next to it. Suzanne (the gallery director) is the most lovely woman with a smile and personality that brightens up the room. She is not one of those pushy sales people that hovers over you as you walk around. She allows you to spend quality time with the art--which is very important since art is such a personal thing. If you haven't been here yet, go asap. You won't be disappointed!

The gallery itself is completely inviting, offering talks and perspectives from artists to create an interesting and exciting place to gather. The inventory is exclusive and offers something for all tastes. The gallery owner seems very invested in and passionate about expressing the ideas of the artists being showcased.
