> RAN was contracted for a full kitchen remodel with custom cabinetry.   RAN did demo and attempted to install box cabinets from China.  Cabinets had the original finish "painted over" to comply with the color that was contracted.  Roy Nichols insisted that he had custom built cabinets in his "shop".  Roy's installers even left the cardboard boxes the cabinets came in behind in our garage.  We had cabinets inspected by a reputable custom cabinet maker in Wichita who attested in writing that the cabinets were "out of the box" from China. We would not let Roy install cabinets.  Roy refused to continue work.  He was already two months behind schedule and we had paid him over $40,000.  We had to sub-contract out the rest of the kitchen work.  After two years and over $10,000 in attorney fees we finally reached a settlement for less than half of what we had paid him.  His insurance company paid for most of the settlement.  DO NOT USE RAN (Roy Nichols) construction

> Signed a contract and then RAN Construction/Roy Nichols breached it.  Lied about work completed and materials used. Went 10+ weeks over 4 wk timeline and was still not complete. Attempted to charge an additional $3,400 for work never agreed upon which contract explicitly states must be agreed upon in writing before any deviations or alterations to original contract.  He stated that all work will cease if "extra" payment not made. I immediately hired a second contractor with a witness to inspect supposed work RAN/Roy claimed to have completed and it was discovered that Roy/RAN lied about items completed and materials used. At that point $24,286.5 had been paid and less than 50% of the work completed. He left all debris/trash piled in my garage and split. Separate contractor estimated that at least $10,000-12,000 is owed back to me. Roy Nichols/RAN refuses to correspond or return communication regarding this matter. HIGHLY RECOMMEND STAYING FAR AWAY from anything involving Roy Nichols or RAN Construction. I'm active duty military and a veteran with over 15 yrs in service and it's sad that people like this are still in "business".  I've contacted multiple agencies regarding this matter to try and make sure it doesn't happen to anyone else.  I've attached a few pics from his "work" on my home.  He left all the demo debris and his trash piled in my garage; kitchen was ripped out and left in disarray; flooring incomplete all edges;  never removed old sliding window as per contract.  These are only a few pics/examples of the multiple botch jobs and missing items.
