Our project began in early 2023, and after paying a total of approximately $400,000 since the start, we ended up with significantly less of a home than when we started. Nearly three years later, we still do not have a completed or livable house, and this process has taken a major toll on our home, our finances, and our family. At this point, it appears we will not be recovering any of the money we paid, and we now have less of a home than when we started. We’re having to move on and figure out how to rebuild our lives from here. > > Although we paid approximately $403,000, they did not come anywhere near that amount of work performed did not come close to reflecting that value. The company has claimed that we breached the contract, but from our perspective, they did not fulfill many of their own obligations, and the project was never completed. They have also asked us to pay for items that we believe were their own mistakes — such as trusses ordered incorrectly, design work from a draftsman who was not an architect, and plumbing that remained exposed for nearly two years. They have even claimed they are owed profit they “would have made,” despite the fact that our home, pool, and landscaping were left destroyed. > > Throughout this process, we were repeatedly told things would improve, but in our experience, they only got worse. We relied on promises that were not kept and have felt misled and abandoned. Based on public ROC records, it appears that multiple complaints have been filed against this company, if you google lawsuits with elder contracting there are multiple suits. I would strongly encourage anyone considering them to do their own due diligence and review those filings before signing a contract. > > Based on my experience, I strongly recommend staying far away from this company. In my opinion, there has been no integrity and no accountability throughout this entire process. Issues were often shifted onto others instead of being addressed, and there was very little follow-through on the commitments we were told would happen. > > I also later learned that the license being used at the start of our project may not have matched the scope of work being performed a CR-61. At the time, I was told there was a way it “still worked,” but looking back, I wish we had verified everything much more thoroughly. That is something I hope others avoid. > > Their motto is “we don’t just change homes, we change lives.” Unfortunately, in my personal experience, our home was changed for the worse and our lives were changed for the worse as a result of this project. This has been one of the most stressful experiences we’ve ever gone through. > > If you are considering using this company, I would personally recommend finding another licensed contractor instead. I hope our experience helps others make informed decisions.
