Not only do they offer amazing levels of customization but their designer training classes and product specifications literature helps designers understand what is possible in such a complex cabinet brand. Plain and Fancy does not warranty paint. I have contacted them several times and they are uninterested in helping. Plain and Fancy turned my > Dream Kitchen into a nightmare. Plain & Fancy delivered botched and defective cabinets and refused to warranty replacements and repairs until contacted by my attorney. The cabinets were manufactured well below industry standards and essentially the entire project needed to be redone and is still subpar. The wood veneer was not sequenced or finished correctly resulting in unacceptable tone and grain matches. Even painted panels did not match and needed to be removed and repainted several times. A large kitchen corner piece has doors that do not slide. Multiple manufacturing delays were not communicated and the project was delayed well over a year. Overall, a botched $150,000+ job and Plain & Fancy and their representatives had to be coerced to honor their warranty of defective materials and still delivered a below industry standard product. Look at the pictures and see if you would like these mismatched panels in your house.(the preceding is my opinion) **★ — HU-70669105, June 2021** > Wish I could give zero stars. This is the worst business I've tried to work with in years. I have redone many kitchens, having owned 8 personal properties and 21 rental units. There is a total lack of communication and customer service. After booking an appointment for a salesperson to come to the house for the initial consultation, something not necessary in any kitchens we've ever installed, my husband and I called 4 more times, speaking to two different people, to ask/remind Brian to bring white samples with him. We were getting the impression that he was not listening and would show up without them. On the scheduled day, someone new showed up WITH NO SAMPLES! I told her there was no point in meeting, and we rescheduled. > > After meeting, she sent an email that we could not do the plan as originally hoped because of an issue with an overhang. I replied back, asking if we could set up a phone call with the fabricator to discuss options. I never heard back. 10 days later, I called her cell to find she'd left the company after only a few weeks working there, a shame because she may have been the only real professional they had. > > She obviously contacted them right away because I finally got an email back from Brian, asking if I had questions. I forwarded my original email and received a response back from Brian with missing words, misspelling, and little punctuation. He suggested meeting in person at the house again. I replied, asking if we could instead have a call with the fabricator, as asked in the original email, to discuss options for the overhang. He called almost immediately and said he really needed to go to the house again because he didn't have any of the information about our kitchen anymore, despite our original rep telling me she'd left all of her customer files at the office. > > During the call, Brian spoke over the top of me, wouldn't listen so responded to partial sentences, and ended up yelling. Brian is unprofessional and should find a job that doesn't include customer contact. > > There are several other kitchen companies in the area. The end product turned out well but the production of the items was a major problem. The center island came in 12 inches too wide with 12 inches of dead space in the middle. Plain & Fancy offered to replace it but that would mean weeks delay in finishing the kitchen so our contractor cut and reassembled the island. The powder room cabinet was even worse. The sink could not be installed because there were boards in the middle of the sink hole. In addition the drawers and doors were not aligned. Plain and Fancy did replace the cabinet but did not cover the extra cost of having contractor, electricians, tilers, and painters come back again. Months later I still cannot see how they could have made such a mistake in manufacturing these items. Again the finished product was great but Plain & Fancy offered nothing to offset our troubles or expenses. . **Comment from Plain & Fancy Custom Cabinetry:** > Thank you for your response.
