I have always found her taste a luxurious combination of East Coast Hampton's meets West Coast Palo Alto. She skillfully maximizes space, structure and light both in feel and visual utilization. I had the opportunity to witness the phoenix of a structure she brought to life several years ago as the general manager and decorator on a project which I visited before and after. The original structure was drab, cramped and dark with two levels, a beautiful large property and a guest house. Sue, tore out a large portion of the first level adding flow and restructured the house opening up a tight number of rooms into a beautiful living room, master bedroom and kitchen overlooking a gorgeous property and a hand painted Mackenzie Child style Gazebo and guest house. The before was a dull, unattractive house, the after was a palatial kitchen, master bedroom and living room with an adorable two bedroom upstairs and one of her special talents: bathrooms, with gorgeous fixtures.... Downstairs, Sue used wide white wall panels, lots and lots of white, placed a huge grand piano in the sunken living room. Back walls were all windows and french doors opening up to a creative in ground trampoline, a green lawn edged by a forest, a beautiful stone patio and fire pit. The guest house went from a dark two floor structure to a wonderful bedroom, kitchen, sitting area, with built in book cases and paneling. A creative minimalist staircase lead to a cozy open playroom in the attic space making a big fun room. After seeing this project, I used Sue to redecorate my home and redo two bathrooms and a kitchen. I loved the chandeliers in my daughters bath and the beautiful paneling in my son's. Plus nothing is more delightful than her taste in Viking ranges, free standing bathroom sinks antique and modern, and I loved the copper sink ....I would buy and sell houses all day long with Sue if I could...such fun, wit and creativity! Plus she is very clear on budget and timing, organizational skills are phenomenal as is her ability to negotiate. She comes in line on budget and time....and she is honest, open and clear about expectations and results. I appreciate it! **Q: New build--should we move the fireplace? And where to put the tv?** *(in Design Dilemma)* Hi everyone, we SO EXCITED to be planning our new build! This is the layout. We have the option of moving the fireplace to the rear wall in the great-room. I like this idea as it means it will be a focal point when you enter the room (with a tall window on each side). What I DO NOT like is seeing a tv as soon as you enter a room, so I do not want to mount it over the fireplace. So then where should the tv go? Thanks so much in advance for your advice!
