My husband is a triple amputee using a power wheelchair and our old ADA compliant bathroom did not work very well for him. The shower was too small and difficult for him to get in and out of, which led to a crack in the shower wall tile where the bench attached. The vanities didn’t have enough clearance to allow his power chair to fit under them, while at the same time the sinks and mirrors were too high for him to use easily. I had a somewhat unconventional plan in mind for fixing these accessibility issues and DFW Improved made it all work out beautifully. He can easily use the entire bathroom now, with more space for his power chair, which means less running into walls or other things.
