> Saratoga Interiors was just fantastic to work with. They can’t to me at my home at times that worked for me, listened to my ideas and vision for the beautiful bedroom they designed, and presented me with gorgeous options. They made everything so easy, not just with the furniture, carpet and fabric selection, but also to connect me with great pros. I highly recommend them and will have more work done with this great firm!

> Shopping at a furniture store that doesn't have every possible color/fabric combination on hand can be difficult .You don't know exactly what the furniture will look like or what the color will really look like. I had to do just that recently, and found that my best option wasn't even one in the same state as the home I was decorating.
>
> Saratoga Signature Interiors made this process much, much easier. They took the time to get paint samples of the colors used in my house to find a great match with the rest of my décor. They suggested styles to match the rest of my furniture, and shipped a number of fabric samples to my home, all to make the process easier for me. They even asked important questions so they could properly suggest a specific fabric that would survive a house with multiple dogs in it.
>
> By the time they delivered the couches to me, I knew that we had made the right decision, not only on the couches, but on the company that we purchased them from. I never felt pressured to spend more, and several times was steered away from options that would have meant a bigger sale, but wouldn't have worked as well for me or my house.
>
> That's a level of honesty and customer friendliness that you can't get everywhere, and it's why I'll be going back for all of my furniture needs.

> Located in historical Saratoga Springs, NY, Saratoga Signature Interiors presents you with the most amazing textiles, artwork, metal work, furniture, equine items, and five star service. The minute you step into the double-glassed doors, you're welcomed by interior (and exterior) décor second to none; layers of ambience and quality pieces -- too many to view -- that erupt in a cacophony of style that only Saratoga Signature delivers. It is impossible to only visit once -- the array of furnishings and newly made relationships will beckon many happy returns.

> I have been a client of Saratoga Signatures, since it opened it's doors, approximately 18 years ago. It never ceases to amaze me how Nancy Smith can view any home, room or project and provide the most consistently excellent scope, image and ideas that will make your house a home...your distinctive and lovely home..I have often asked Nancy and Dan how they can take their style and knowledge and wrap it fully around their clients and friends, all who have very diverse taste and choices. Their actions speak for themselves in response, as the client's needs set the stage and Nancy and Dan provide all that is necessary to bring the project to a happy ending. One thing I must say is that when I have gone in, with budget and price sensitivity, the pieces and styles they choose are able to keep you within your intent but still reaffirm that their taste is beyond compare. ## Community Q&A

**Q: Can you identify this fabric?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Do you know who manufactures the print fabric? Thank you!

A: Thibaut or Anna French maybe? That looks an awful lot like their fabric on the draperies in the background.

**Q: Happy accident or too much?** *(in Polls)*

Our painters were supposed to paint our garage solid gray to match the house, instead they painted the raised squares white to match the upstairs detailing:

My designer thinks it is too much, my mother (who has an art background) loves it. DH and I are torn...
In the long run I want to to put some window boxes upstairs with some flowering/vining plants (hopefully some colorful ones) that may cover part of the top window squares. We also need to redo the driveway and the red brick leading to the door. I am thinking we will do a darker gray stamped concrete or pavers. The door is bright blue.

What do you think?

A: We love it! Tip the painters!

**Q: Gas firepit table question** *(in Porches & Decks)*

We have a 15 inch sofa on our patio and just purchased a 24 inch high fire pit table. After we set it up I thought it looked very funny because the table is so much higher than the sofa. Is this normal? I know that they make 18 inch high firepit tables, but we do not want the propane tank outside of the table. Any input would be appreciated.

A: I think it looks a little funny for a few reasons. 1) it isn't big enough for your space. A bigger square would work better there. and 2) In my opinion, it is a bit too tall with your low sofa. I know that they make lower lying fire pit tables where the propane tanks lay on their sides (still totally hidden from view).

**Q: Flab Slab Style Cabinets -- Flush to Ceiling? Add a Trim Piece?** *(in Lighting)*

This kitchen design is about 90% complete. Still several tweaks to be done. I'm trying to decide whether the cabinets should: A) go straight up to the ceiling , B) have a small flat trim piece between cabinet and ceiling - currently they are designed with 2.75" trim or C) end before the ceiling and add some uplighting in the gap. Was considering adding lighting inside the glass cabinets over fridge and the four to right of microwave that will hold glassware and "bar" items.

I typically prefer cabinetry flush with the ceiling. The advice I've gotten so far is that contemporary slab style cabinets like this do not typically have a trim piece. Also that if the ceiling is not super straight, a trim piece will make that even more obvious. The ceiling height is 104". Standard 36" counters. Uppers to start at 18" over counters, or 54" from the ground -- so that is a 50" tall cabinet if I went to the ceiling. I'd prefer one cabinet over stacked.

Lastly, if there is a trim piece, it was not supposed to be over the hood. That was supposed to be open to the ceiling as in the second picture. But the designer thought it should be there. Would also like thoughts on that. -- Thank you!

A: No Trim. You obviously have a super contemporary kitchen. It's my opinion that having no trim helps to exaggerate the sharp contemporary lines you seem to enjoy in your design. Your kitchen design looks clean and fresh.

**Q: Am I crazy or are these the same table? Can someone help me choose?** *(in Polls)*

I’m looking to purchase a new table for our open kitchen area (which divides the kitchen and living room), and really love the trestle farmhouse style, but our house is a bit more traditional - so I thought this style would be a nice compromise. It appears these are basically the same table, so I’m not sure which to choose. The obvious answer is the cheaper one if they’re the same, but it looks as if the more expensive one \*may\* be a bit better quality based on materials, plus there are more/better reviews. The more expensive one also says “extendable” in the name but it looks as if the cheaper one also is extendable, based on the description. I would like to purchase one that is durable enough to stand up to two crazy boys (our current table has lots of scuffs and scratches). Can someone PLEASE take a look at each of these and help me decide which to purchase? Thank you!!

Option \#1 (“Rockton”):
https://www.wayfair.com/furniture/pdx/rockton-dining-table-lfmf2200.html

Option \#2 (“Offerman”):
https://www.wayfair.com/furniture/pdx/offerman-extendable-dining-table-lfmf2256.html

A: While it seems that these two tables are quite identical in design, the Offerman (OPTION \#2)
looks to have a wire brush finish and a slatted style top. Option \# 1 looks to have a smooth finish. Both are made of poplar solids & oak veneer, but I always suggest a less glossy top if you are looking for durability, because they resist scratches. Option \#2 seems to offer a top that, to me, looks more durable for a home with "two crazy boys" and lots of family dinners, because of its wire brush finish.
In my experience, it is often times very difficult to know exactly what you are getting in terms of quality and style when you order from online sources. I would suggest you find these tables from a local furniture dealer in your area. you'll be able to really see their quality and finish. You'll also most likely get great customer service, free delivery and home installation, and they will assemble it for you too! (Believe me when I tell you these things don't always go together as planned!) It's also very likely that your local furniture dealer will try their very best to match online pricing as well. Good luck with your purchase, and happy holidays!

**Q: What color paint did you use for the walls** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Hi Donna,
We used Agreeable Gray SW7029 from Sherwin-Williams throughout this home.
Thank you for your question.
