A: Hi Teri, I'm not sure. This room was done a few years ago and the file is in storage. I can tell you the colors were pulled from the chair fabric. Starting with an inspiration fabric or area rug is usually the best plan. Paint should be the last selection you make when designing a space after fabrics for upholstery and window treatments, rugs, etc. Paint comes in literally every color. If you select the paint first, you could limit those other choices. That is my best advice to you. **Q: Is it safe to use quartz as a backsplash behind a range?** *(in Remodeling)* We are currently remodeling our kitchen, and we have chosen a large veined, engineered quartz for our countertops (Mont Calcutta Venetian). I really want to run the quartz as our backsplash, which would mean it would be behind our gas range. I have heard conflicting comments about whether or not this can get damaged due to the heat from the range. Has anyone used quartz as a full backsplash or have experience or knowledge about this? Any help is appreciated! A: True that clearances make a difference. You might end up having to bump your cooktop forward if you’re dead set on using some materials. You’ve got to read the clearances and specs on both the cooktop or range and the backsplash material to make the best decision for your project. **Q: Paint** *(in Photo Questions)* Can you advise what paint colors were chosen? A: Hi Linda, we did the window treatments only for that space. The room was already painted. Professional Tip: When possible, always choose your paint colors last after selecting rugs, fabrics for seating and drapery. Paint comes in literally every color. Those other selections are more limited. If you select a paint color first, you could limit your choices of everything else. Good luck! **Q: Chaise!** *(in Photo Questions)* Can you please share where the chaise was purchased? A: We had the chaise custom made for the client. It isn't available in a retail store. If you search nautical map wall mural on the web, you can probably find something similar.
