> I truly do not have enough good things to say about Robert and his team. They are such a pleasure to work with and are going to turn my 40’s bungalow into an updated masterpiece, while maintaining the character! Can’t wait to see it come to life. Highly highly highly recommend Ross Design, truly impeccable work!

**★★★★★ — designer135, Jan. 2023**

> Robert has done all my houses for over 20 years. From the first project, he listened, respected my budget and gave me what I asked for…only way better than I could have ever imagined. The joke used to be - he would give me an option A (my idea exactly) and B (my idea perfected) and I just knew option B was the choice and took the result from average to exceptional. Now we just start at ‘option B’ and collaborate.
>
> Our current project is the 1965 cape cod on my farm. Last year we transformed the outside just by painting and choosing the right new roof (standing seam metal - black) and by fixing the porch columns to the appropriate heft and spacing. The house now fits into the land…this is how it should always have been.
>
> This year we are doing the inside starting with a modern high gloss white European kitchen which is my style. Robert has added elements that blend that into a more casual feel with a barn siding wall (from my grandfather’s farm) and other choices without actually turning it into a farmhouse. We are ready to start construction and his advice on all aspects of the project is vital. Today, we just replaced the shower wall tile selection in a guest bathroom that took it from average to exceptional..well within my budget. I had that floor tile and the new wall tile samples on a cart at the tile store and designers, employees and other customers kept walking up and admiring it before saying ‘gorgeous’!

> Thanks so much Designer135! It is always a pleasure to work with you!

> Robert has been great. I came to him for help with a basement renovation. My mother in law needed to move in with us, but our basement was way beyond what a handyman could do to make it livable. Robert was able to secure a contractor that could re-pour the entire foundation and replace all the supports for the house. Both the contractor and Robert walked through the project with an engineer during several phases to verify that everything was going to work.
> Robert's design brought a great deal more light into the basement than was previously there and it now looks like a spacious apartment. I liked all of his design choices, which was helpful as I'm in a very busy season and wanted to be able to hand some of those choices over.
> Another aspect of design was ADA/aging in place design. Robert was very knowledgeable regarding the design of a safe kitchen and bathroom to give her maximum independence while reducing hazards. They assisted with add-ons once we got her moved into the space and spotted additional needs.
> Overall, Robert is an extremely thoughtful and thorough architect.

> I'm so glad things are working out and look forward to our next project!

> I have worked with Robert Ross on numerous projects, the most recent one at my home in Alpharetta. Robert is one of the best designers I've ever worked with. He looks at your home, all your spaces, your style and knows immediately what will look best and be within the set budget. He introduced us to contractors, stone and tile vendors, and gave great suggestions on websites to select the other items we were replacing. Together, we selected counter material, sinks, tile, and the appliances we needed to update. It looks terrific and we are so happy! After taking a breather, we are now selecting new floor coverings. Robert was my motivation to get this project started and I can't tell you how great it looks!

**★★★★★ — John Irizarry, March 2021**

> Don’t waste anymore time thinking about it. If you want your home to flow from room to room, an architect is a must. Ross Design will turn your space into a dream. Robert see’s things most others do not. Robert is working with my wife and me on a complete home renovation. Without Robert and his creative architecture design ideas, we would still be talking about remolding our bathroom.

**Comment from Ross Design Inc.:**

> Thanks for the kind words John. It is a pleasure to work with you on your home. Your dedication to the cause is amazing!

**★★★★★ — Amy Rowland, Dec. 2018**

> We have had to jump through a lot of unexpected hoops to expand our home, and Robert has been a steady partner through it all. Following a lengthy variance process that left us with a challenging footprint, Robert created a design that made us feel like we hadn't compromised our needs and wants for our home. Robert brought his knowledge, expertise, kind spirit and professional network to our project and helped us turn challenges into opportunities. He is both architect and artist. We are looking forward to the day when we move in, and I can update this post with beautiful photos!!

**Comment from Ross Design Inc.:**

> Thanks for the kind words Amy! I'm also looking forward to move-in!

**★★★★★ — anne Stanford, May 2018**

> I can't say enough wonderful things about Ross Design. When trees fell on our home, it was time to not only replace, but remodel a few rooms. Ross Design took us through the entire process. We are so happy with our new rooms and few more changes we didn't even know we needed! I love that they create fresh new ideas for each of his clients so none of us have the same designs. Look no further than Ross Design for your architect and design needs.

**★★★★★ — Barbara Frolik, Feb. 2018**

> Robert is a talented architect who ferrets out what you are REALLY looking for and then designs it. He will not let you do anything stupid. He worked well with both the designer and the contractor and several times kept THEM from doing things I wouldn't like. Occasionally he would suggest choices that pushed me out of my comfort zone, and I couldn't be happier with those results. He's easy to work with and a lot of fun.

**Comment from Ross Design Inc.:**

> Thanks Barbara! Looking forward to seeing the furniture move in!

**★★★★★ — Candice Rosenberg, July 2017**

> I absolutely love working with Robert. He comes up with great designs and works with me on what I want vs what is practical and necessary. His attention to detail is impeccable. This is my 3rd project working with Robert. He goes above and beyond when it comes to designing homes with me. I plan to continue working with Robert on future projects.

**★★★★★ — Ailan Olsen, Jan. 2017**

> We had a major life change years ago when my father moved in with us. Other designers gave impractical and grandiose designs. Robert gave sound advice and designed the perfect suite for my father and added a much needed dining area that fit the flow of the house perfectly. We are more than happy with his work and now saving up for the next phase of remodeling.

**Comment from Ross Design Inc.:**

> Thanks Ailan!! I am so glad things are working out so well. Let me know when you are ready to start the next phase!!

**★★★★★ — Meredith Wright, Nov. 2016**

> Back when we purchased our home in 2013, the former owners handed over extensive architectural plans from their gut job renovation on our 1920s historic house in Atlanta. The only project the former owners didn’t undertake was a carriage house/garage extension behind the main house. We obtained Robert’s contact information from the original plans drawn up for the renovation on the main house. When we were in the initial phases of embarking on this project, we received 4 quotes and Robert Ross’ came in at the most reasonably priced. Also, his knowledge about the historical aspects of our property and neighborhood proved to be instrumental. Robert drew up the plans in such a way that our strict historic district approved them on the first submission. This meant that we didn’t have to scale back down and resubmit them for approval, wasting time, money and resources. Robert was also skillfully able to locate original bricks from Kansas to match the main house as well as mimic certain historical architectural elements such as windows and doors in the carriage house. Robert was in contact with us throughout the entire process and properly managed expectations along the way. Robert tends to work with the same contractors, which lends itself to a smooth transition from planning and permits to groundbreaking and execution. My husband and I couldn't be happier with the end result. We happily recommend Robert Ross Design to anyone who is considering embarking on any architectural project in Atlanta.

**Comment from Ross Design Inc.:**

> Thank you so much! You and Matt were a pleasure to work with!

**★★★★★ — Key Enterprises Inc., Nov. 2016**

> When it came time to remodel my kitchen, dining and sitting rooms, I was most fortunate to be introduced to Ross Design Inc. Robert's knowledge and eye for detail to bring these rooms together was astonishing. With his guidance, I was introduced to design styles that I never would have thought about. Thank you, Ross Design Inc.

## Community Q&A

**Q: a local busniess** *(in Photo Questions)*

the whole wine cabinet what's the price

A: Thanks for the question. This is a custom piece that was included as part of a larger kitchen package, so I have no way to pull a current price. Take a photo to a custom cabinet maker and see if they can make it for you! Glad it caught your eye!

**Q: love the garage doors!** *(in Photo Questions)*

What is the manufacturer?

A: Hi again Chels-

We specified the design on our plans and the builder provided them through Jeremiah Garage Doors. 404.840.4643. They are stamped metal.

**Q: who is the manufacturer of the cabinet?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Cabinet manufacturer

A: The cabinets were sourced locally. The important things to consider are finish and hardware. A factory finish will tend to last longer than a field applied finish. Hardware is the jewelry. good luck with your project.

**Q: what type of tile was used for the shower?** *(in Photo Questions)*

What type of tile was used for the shower?

A: That was actually a white marble that the contractor found. It is not a product we typically specify for a number of reasons. There are several porcelain tile marble look tiles that would work better in this situation.

**Q: Exterior Colors** *(in Photo Questions)*

Can you tell the names of grey and white colors, please?

A: Thanks for the question. It's been a few years, but:
Panels- Benjamin Moore 2137-60 Gray Owl- Satin finish- My recollection was this was cut to 75%
Siding- Benjamin Moore HC-166 Kendall Charcoal- Satin Finish

the white was just a standard bright white.

**Q: what color paint did you use on the cabinets? and by who?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Cabinets were a white provided by the custom fabricator. Thanks
