> We began a major renovation of a 1960s ranch in August of 2016 with Koss design+build. The scheduled completion date is this December. At this point in the project my wife and are 100% thrilled with the entire Koss team. We went into the project with a very clear picture of what we wanted. Koss improved on our original design. Their design input also ended up saving us money. Their subs have produced superior work at a pace that is almost too fast. To date, Koss has been completely honest and done everything they said they were going to do. All pricing was agreed upon prior to beginning construction. The entire process has been 100% transparent. It is always a joy to work with quality individuals. It has been 6 weeks since demo and there have been no surprises so far - in fact, the price has actually gone down a bit since the job began (Erik - We know refinishing the floors will throw this out of whack). I have attached a photo that shows the house before we started. I'll update the review and include a picture of the finished project when it's complete.

> I'm a GC that's worked with Koss Design Build and I've known Erik for years.  As a builder, we sometimes get sideways with architects and other builders on their plans and procedures, but every interaction I've had with Koss has been over the top great.  I've had the pleasure of working with Erik on several projects.  I've seen the background documents and legal barriers he creates to protect his clients as well as the on site supervision he deploys to make sure that every detail is accounted for.  Koss behaves the way you THINK most contractors and architects do act, but most don't.  I've seen Erik stress over not taking the apparent low bidder while he painstakingly calls up all the bidders and verifies that their scope of work are all the same, which it almost never is.  Once he's done that, then he awards the ACTUAL low bidder, assuming they meet the pre-qualification process.  The Pr-Qual process is huge; Getting the low bidder doesn't mean a thing if they don't have the right insurances, licensing, and references behind their name.

What is the color and material of the countertop?

A: The tile is called 'Shaped Tile - Diamond'  The color was discontinued at the time of purchase.  These clients got the last of it.  The shape itself may be discontinued now as well...Sorry.

A: The flooring is a concrete topping. it is a standard gray color. See the link below for more info.
This particular home was a remodel. We were hoping to grind and polish the existing slab. When we removed the existing tile we found that the slab had been cut up so all of the underground sewer pipes could be replaced. These clients loved the look of concrete so we used this concrete topping by Mapei. It is hard to see but at the doorways there is a zinc strip between the door jams to give the floor a little more detail.

A: Yes?  It is a SS soaking tube.  You sit inside it more than you lay down.

A: That is a Bellmont brand, series 1900 Walnut cabinet. with a quartz counter top by Silestone.
