TXR came out to the building site several times to survey it and look at it to get ideas on how to situate the home. Their architect listened to what we wanted in the house and he drew up plans that were perfect the first time. The architect drew the plans specifically to fit on the piece of property to maximize every view of the lake and made sure every room had a lake view. TXR then oversaw the building of the house, doing many things themselves and subcontracting for electricity, plumbing, cement etc. They met with us often and kept us up to date on everything going on. They provide receipts of every bid and money spent so you always know where the money is going. Everyone at TXR is easy to work with and they work hard to make sure their customers are taken care of. Thank you! A: The fireplace is a Firerock brand modular masonry firebox with field installed firebrick (Isokern makes a similar model). You use the mfg's gas log kit or it can be woodburning depending on the install. With the gas logs you are required to have an exhaust fan in the flue to actively ventilate the gas fire logs. These modular fireboxes use a metal flue pipe which is what makes them so affordable and easy to install - yet for all practical purposes look and function just like a full masonry fireplace. And unlike a gas insert, do not require glass and screens. **Q: Who makes this tile? Is it slate or porcelain tile?** *(in Photo Questions)* We really like the look of this tile.
