## Community Q&A

**Q: I love the Tableaux Insert** *(in Photo Questions)*

Could you please tell me where I could find or have someone make the Tableaux Insert for me? Thank you. Julia

A: Hi Julia, I would be happy to help. You can view standard patterns at our website, just copy and paste this link - http://cmiinteriorsinc.com/files/2012/09/Pattern\_Selector.pdf
We also welcome custom designs. Feel free to email me with details about your project including approximate sizes and we can jump off from there. jes@cmiinteriorsinc.com

**Q: What curtain rods did you use? How did you hang them at an angle?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: We supplied the drapery rods. You can either have the rods templated to the bay or use movable elbows that are finished to match the rods to join them at the angle points.

**Q: Bay window in need of treatment...window experts please help** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Hi, We have a very large beautiful bay window that I can't figure out what to do with! I was going to do Roman shades on the two side windows but I fear that will make the bay window look undone! The bay window has 5 equal size panes arching around, do I do 5 tiny roman shades, one big one, two floor length panels on the side?? I'm not super worried about privacy, more of a design question. Any suggestions??

I should mention that this is a "before" picture, we're putting in dark walnut hardwood floors and are planning to put in a casual dark walnut farmhouse table with 3 pendants instead of the ceiling fan.

A: I love Sabrina's thoughts! Another option if you wanted fabric roman shades would be doing a curved application, such as the attached image.

**Q: Need window treatment ideas for these windows** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I would really appreciate suggestions for window treatment solutions for this challenging application in a guest bedroom in Aspen Colorado. Windows are very small, about 20"x20" .
There is no space above windows to properly raise Roman shades as the ceiling pitch starts right at top of windows. I thought about creating a pocket above, but not sure if there is space.
Window in adjacent wall will be fitted with a flat Roman Shade.

A: You could always do a COM laminated roller shade to match the roman.

**Q: Beautiful! What is the paint color please?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: I am sorry we only did the shutters on this job so I do not know the paint color.

**Q: Window treatment for ridiculously tall celings** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Hoping for help with this! We have really tall ceilings--far taller than they should be but the builder used extra joists between the main & 2nd floor so that he could span the roof without using support posts. Now we're stuck with an A-frame great room that is 30' long x 15' wide. The sidewalls are 16', the peak is 22'. How do I visually reduce the height of this ceiling? (It's a beautiful T&G ceiling, just awkwardly tall). There are 3 window sections (the window you see in the picture, then to the right a French door, then a matching window on the right of the French door). If I do 3 matching Roman Shades that are installed 1 foot above each window, with the bottom of the shade covering the top window trim, will that give a feeling of a break between the main and 2nd floor? It would create a horizontal line--is that the right way to reduce the vertical-ness of this room? (ignore the TV & scaffolding, we're still in a construction-zone mess). Thanks!!

A: If you go with the roman shades, to insure you get the effect you are looking for, consult with your workroom about the stack based on the height you would like them mounted. We work with many designers that like to hang romans above so that the stack does not cover the window and block any of the natural light.
