### Reviews

**★★★★★ — Cyndy Strickland, May 2024**

> We are now living in a magnificent, one-of-a-kind home that is better than we could have ever imagined thanks to Nu Wavz.
>
> We interviewed custom home builders, and Nu Wavz impressed us right away with their professionalism. In our first meeting, Dan Johnson showed up prepared, asked insightful questions, grasped our goals and needs, and guided us through a base budget that we could tweak as the conversation went on. His calm assurance was very beneficial because we were new to building custom homes.
>
> Nu Wavz has top-notch designers. We met with Dan, Ben Sivert, and Christine Venzi, the blueprint designer, on the property lot to assess the potential for multiple views, make elevation adjustments, and find solutions for special limitations like the location of the wash and the small building envelope. Christine took our handwritten sketches of our dream home and turned them into a concept plan and then bid set drawings. Our home's daily beauty is a result of the understanding and optimization of light, desert flora and view potential by Dan, Ben, and Christine. Christine did a fantastic job of optimizing flow and square footage functionality. Ben helped us preserve the best cacti and trees so we could enjoy the natural beauty of the desert. Ben made the most of his hard-earned experience to make sure our home's design and result was affordable, sustainable, buildable, and true to the design concept while also making the most of the best features of the property.
>
> Jenna Allen guided us through the interior/exterior design and selections. She solves problems creatively, has extensive experience, is upbeat, and supportive. Her creative eye for design and professional expertise are greatly appreciated. Because Jenna understood our vision from the start, she—along with Dan, Ben, and Christine—helped us stay true to our initial goals and aspirations. She helped us create a contemporary desert mountain home with plenty of natural light, stunning views of the mountains and sunsets, and an indoor-outdoor lifestyle.
>
> Brandi Brown made sure that all unfinished business and warranty items were satisfactorily finished, treating our house build as though it were her own. We are grateful for her perseverance, forbearance, professionalism, problem-solving skills, and personal care in making sure we had a lovely house to live in. It was her who ensured that the entire project was completed satisfactorily.
>
> The construction and site work took far longer than expected. Disruptions to the supply chain and the pandemic were important factors. There was a change in project managers, and certain subcontractor crews performed much better than others in terms of quality or property care while on the job. This was not a situation exclusive to Nu Wavz for home building. We knew we could count on Dan and Ben to listen to our concerns, accept accountability, identify and apply solutions, and remain dedicated to building a fine, custom home. Thank you!

> We started a warranty repair since the tub was not level from the beginning. So this is a repair that went sideways from the beginning. Shower tile 101 is that the walls need to be sealed water tight before you add the tile. Not only was it started without being water tight the supervisor did not have any experience with tile. You can see from the pictures that the wall was never sealed in the corners and the seams were not taped or sealed either. I had to bring it to their attention that this was not correct when I came home for the day. You have to be the supervisor and quality inspector if the job is to be done correctly. So the tile had to be removed and the wall prepped correctly. Then a new guy came to install the tile and was never told the correct pattern for the tile, so now we have a shower that does not match the rest of the house. This project was supposed to take 1 week and we are currently at the end of week 2 and will be most of week 3 before it is done.

> Choosing the right home builder is the number one decision in how your home is built. But a word of caution, don’t just look at the builder, look at the superintendent that is going to overlook your job. Make sure he/she is someone who will be on site for the entire job, pay close attention to detail, listen to your concerns as the home is being built and not pout when you as the customer question or point out inferior work being performed. These qualities will be the determinate in the end.
> Upon moving into our home, we had many concerns, however the biggest was the soft grout in our floor, which is throughout the home. Needless to say, after continually bringing this to NuWavz attention, they finally agreed to take care of it. We were told we need to move out to have the grout replaced throughout and 70+ tiles replaced as well. Our new customer service rep told me he would be ‘crawling around on his knees to make sure the floor was right’-this was not the case. I was the one who had to continually point out the areas of concern causing the laborers to come back multiple times to get it right. Once again this lack of attention to detail from the initial superintendent and CR rep cost NuWavz $15,000 for moving costs and 30 days of room and board for us, not including their labor and supplies for a month of work. Good business?
> Just be cautious when selecting a home builder and interview their subcontractors to see what they think about the builder.

**Comment from Nu Wavz Homes:**

> As a custom homebuilder it is always disappointing to have a customer that is frustrated with any part of their building experience. We did have a manufacturers issue with the floor grout and at the request of the customer agreed to having them move out during the repairs. We agreed to cover more of the cost than what was required in an effort to minimize the disruption to their day to day lives.
> We enjoyed working with this customer and hope that they would agree that they have a beautiful home that they can appreciate for years to come.

**★ — Ken McAlister, Nov. 2019**

> We signed a contract with Nuwavz homes to build a custom home for us in the allotted time frame that we needed it built by. The attention to detail on the work was not there, nor was the quality you would expect from a custom home builder as you can see from the pictures. We are truly disappointed on how they treated us as a customer and how they did not keep their contractual obligations.

> These guys are phenomenal. Building this house was seriously stress free. I have many pictures of the house as it was being built. Dan was always very organized, and Ben as the boots-on-the-ground guy was wonderful. The crews were always courteous and what was supposed to be one of the biggest stressers in life turned out to be one of the most enjoyable. I felt like Dan and Ben were part of my team to get the house built the way I wanted, and not like I was an outsider without any say. All of my thoughts and ideas were carefully considered and either implemented or explained to me why the idea wouldnt work. And this was NOT an easy house to build, the property was completely undeveloped, and Ben had to start from scratch. I would only use the builders, and we did interview quite a few builders prior to picking Nu Wavz.

**Comment from Nu Wavz Homes:**

> Thank you so much for the glowing review, it was a pleasure working with such amazing customers!

> Dan, Ben & Doug are great to work with. They put a lot of pride into the homes & remodels that they do. Their attention to detail is outstanding and they are always looking for ways to give their clients the best value.

**★★★★★ — Andrew Smeltzer, Oct. 2017**

> We approached Nu Wavz homes back in October of 2015. Nu Wavz is professional and each of the employees went out of their way to ensure our questions were answered and provided the information necessary to ensure a smooth transition into our new home. We moved into our custom built home in December of 2016. Our home is now featured as one of their completions in their gallery of homes. Dan and the rest of his team are great to work with, and they do a great job in capturing the vision set forth to develop and build your custom home.

**★★★★★ — Ron Salt, Oct. 2017**

> Nu Wavz was excellent to work with. We trusted them with our condo renovation and they certainly didn't disappoint. What was the most important aspect to this was the fact we live in Calgary, Alberta, Canada and they managed to complete the work we requested with not one change in the original estimate and turned out a beautiful product!

**★★★★★ — Julie Larson, Sept. 2017**

> New Wavz did a fabulous job on our remodel. They have an on-staff architect/designer who helped me at every step. Everyone was professional and they stood behind their work when we found a problem. I HIGHLY recommend them!

**★★★★★ — Chris Jensen, Sept. 2017**

> I have known Dan for a long time and have been able to supply him lumber and other materials.
> He builds a quality product and is a great guy to work with.
> Chris 84 lumber...
