I genuinely try to support small businesses over big-box stores, but this experience left me regretting that choice. Their showroom is impressive and full of beautiful displays, and our design expert, Erin, was great to work with during the purchasing phase. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives ended. > > We purchased tile for our shower walls, shower floor, and kitchen backsplash. The problems began immediately. When our installer went to pick up the order, he returned without the backsplash tile. After waiting a full day with no update, I called and learned that the wrong product had been ordered. Mistakes happen, but the lack of communication was frustrating. > > Once installation began, the quality and quality control issues became impossible to ignore. Out of seven cases of shower wall tile, we had roughly 2 cases of damaged pieces. Even after purchasing about 25% extra, we ended up with only one spare tile. Anyone buying from Arley should plan on ordering 25–30% overage just to compensate for defects. > > The shower floor tile was an even bigger concern. Our installer refused to use it, calling it a liability. When we inspected it ourselves, it was clear the product did not match the sample we had been shown and I may have received the wrong product. When I spoke with Lynn, the Showroom Manager, about returning it, the focus was immediately on their 25% restocking fee—not on the fact that the product was misrepresented. I was even told that because it was installed in one of their showroom displays, it should be acceptable for my shower. That response did not inspire confidence. > > The kitchen backsplash tile had similar issues. Out of three cases, about one full case’s worth was damaged. Lynn did reorder a replacement case, but repeatedly emphasized that in her ten years at Arley she had never seen damage like this. Ironically, when my wife went to pick up the backsplash tile, she was behind a contractor returning product due to damage. Again, the pattern speaks for itself. > > Beyond the product issues, the service after purchase was disappointing. I left multiple messages, was promised return calls that never came, and repeatedly had to chase down answers myself. It left me wondering whether they prioritize their wholesale accounts and view individual homeowners as an afterthought. > > Overall, I cannot recommend Arley Wholesale. The quality and quality control were poor for the price point, and the customer service declined sharply once the sale was made. They are underestimating the cost of repairing their faulty product and are not owning up to make the situation right. Extremely disappointed in their management. If I were you, I would simply do business with someone else.
