It was supposed to take 3 months. The reason it did not take a shorter amount of time is because we had to request two variances which added about a month, but ultimately it seemed like other projects were higher priority to Jacob than our project (we spent ~$100k+). The porch is the last item on the list, which hasn't even been started. Jacob's excuse was he couldn't get a framer to do the work. Jacob is a home builder and framing is literally the first step in all of his projects. If he doesn't have a framer for the amount of time he has claimed he doesn't have one - he is out of business. That has lead me to believe our project is not a priority to him, one year of waiting - what's another year going to do? Now of course Jacob is telling me the cost of material nearly doubled and he needs more money to do the job. I am not the only client that is disappointed in Jacob’s work and newly built homes. We also had contractors that Jacob hired for my home that were not paid when promised by Jacob that they would be, and they will no longer do work for Jacob. I wish I would have spoken sooner, but wanted to give Jacob a chance to try and fix some of the things done wrong, and to give Jacob a chance to grow his business.
