**★★★★★ — Betsy Morrell, April 2021**

> I have been working with Theo for over 8 years and can not say enough about everything he has done for us from design to installation to aftercare. He has built hardscape and done large and small scale planning and planting, all with an eye for detail and an exquisite aesthetic. He and Kerri are a dream to work with and I can not give enough enthusiastic praise to do them justice.

> There are certain tasks around one's property that cannot be done without the help of a professional. We live on the coast of Maine and lost roughly 22 trees in a strange microburst. The yard changed drastically and not for the better. We spoke with a landscape architect who suggested a major alteration to the driveway/parking and a new path and approach to the house. We accepted the plan but still had no clear vision of the result.
> In came Theo from Red Twig. As far as we are concerned he is a land whisperer. He listened to our wants and needs, likes and dislikes. Theo found amazing large granite pavers, brought in birches, plants and lots of ground cover. In addition in came rocks and boulders he tirelessly moved around until he found the right fit! His vision, creativity and attention to detail is astounding. He did not stop until his magic touch transformed our property. The entrance is now special and it gives us pleasure every day.

**★★★★★ — Cecilia Wheeler, Feb. 2016**

> The scope of our project was quite large and we couldn't have found a better architect to do the job. Our house is located on a steep slope. We wanted to reclaim the land on the slope for a side patio, while installing a pool and a lawn/garden area in the back. I know nothing about plants, so the only stipulation I had for Theo was that they had to be low maintenance. Theo was so creative in his design and saved us a lot of money by using the rocks excavated from the pool area to build the pool walls and the retaining walls surrounding the property. His masons were master craftsmen and they spent countless hours chiseling the rocks to fit together to create tightly jointed pool walls surrounding a circular pool deck, which lend harmony to the straight lines of my house and the 50' long skinny pool. Theo built a 2-level retaining wall on the side slope to give me a large side patio area for entertaining. The lower level retaining wall was used to create a platform for planting trees to soften the look of the upper wall. Throughout the garden area, he situated plants and shrubs to provide privacy. Many guests to my house had commented that moving through my backyard is like moving through different rooms in a house, as you turn the corner, there is another space to be discovered.

> Theo was an amazing architect and project leader. He listened to all our needs and exceeded our expectations. He formed great relationships with members of the town board and ensured that our project was approved without a hitch. I would highly recommend Theo to anyone looking for a landscape architect.

> We have had the good fortune to work with Theo on several projects including terrace design for an apartment in Manhattan and full landscape design and execution for a new country home.
> Theo is an incredibly talented landscape architect, but equally impressive is his attention to detail in the execution of those designs. Our country home was constructed on a challenging hillside site. Theo designed and executed a series of terraces, multi-level gardens, and an infinity pool.
> He worked collaboratively and seamlessly with the architect, contractor, and site engineer to ensure that all elements, including siting of the house, worked together. He also spent hours sourcing the landscape materials to ensure the best quality, uniqueness, and esthetic balance. While beautiful when we moved in, now in our sixth year of residence, those choices have matured into a stunning landscape, equally pleasing in every season.
> If we would decide to build or renovate another residence, our first call will be to Theo to join the project team. He is a gem!... Honest, hard working, great listener, amazing attention to detail, and super creative in his design!

**★★★★★ — Barbara Wright, Oct. 2015**

> Theo was great to work with as both a designer and contractor, He was easy to collaborate with, had a good grasp of the Japanese garden aesthetic (our objective), and that he understood our wishes for the property. He executed his plans skillfully and on time, on a challenging hillside site.
>
> The plantings that Redtwig chose for our yard have developed beautifully. Pleasing even in their first years, the design has matured over the past roughly 4-5 years to enhance the privacy and beauty of our yard in the ways we had hoped. Passersby stop all the time to comment appreciatively.
>
> We unreservedly recommend Redtwig and Theo himself if you are looking for customized, personalized design.

**★★★★★ — Crisp Architects, Oct. 2015**

> I have had the pleasure of working with Theo Condon and Redtwig, llc, and am always astounded at the creativity and attention to detail they provide our clients. From the perfect selection of plant materials to the overall design of the landscape, Theo is in control of everything. On one recent project he designed the retaining walls, the rock outcroppings, the pool and spa, and that was just the beginning.
>
> I cannot wait for the next project we can collaborate on since he gives our architecture a special place in the landscape. Jimmy Crisp

## Community Q&A

**Q: Love the blue/green evergreen shrub. What is it named? Thank you!** *(in Photo Questions)*

Would you tell me the name of the shrub? Thanks!

A: Thanks for your question - if you mean the low shrub in the foreground, it is Grey Owl Juniper. If you mean the one with the trunk, it was already there and I believe it's some kind of Japanese Pine. Hope that helps!

**Q: Beautiful. What type of trees with white flowers please?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Thank you. They are Donald Wyman Crabapple.
