> Absolutely the highest quality craftsmanship at a fair price. We are remodeling our house in stages and started with the flooring upstairs. Tad had the carpet removed and installed a beautiful hardwood floor with an amazing espresso finish. Excited to get started on the next stage.....my wife's dream kitchen.

## Community Q&A

**Q: What material did you use for the roof?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: It is actual roofing material. I'll have to look up the manufacturer, we did that a few years ago. it is a synthetic slate that we used on the outside of the house also.
Thank you for asking. Let me know if you need anything else.
This was a fun project.

**Q: What wall and ceiling/trim colors were used. Beautiful!** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: All the millwork (trim and fireplace) are an "off white" with a slight bend to cream. It was a custom mix that we don't have the formula for because it was mixed on site. There are a number of whites in the Benjamin Moore line that will work with the "Shaker Beige". Just use something that will complement you accessories and also make the wall color pop.

**Q: Love the color of the floor and rails! What color stain?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: The color is "spice". It is a "Glitza" brand floor stain. I don't know if it is available everywhere, but you flooring guy should be able to put some samples on the raw wood floor prior to sanding for you to choose from.
I would go to your best, local paint/stain store to get some options. Here in the Seattle area, I have my clients go to "Daly's" . They have a great selection and they seem to be able to match what ever I bring in.

**Q: This looks great! Is this a glu-lam beam? If so, what did you cover it with to get this reclaimed look?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: This was a 34" x 8" x 42' GluLam that we covered with 1x4 Ash. The Ash was glued together, trying to match the grain as best as possible. We made each side and bottom seperate and then we distressed the wood prior to installing it. It turned out even better than the pictures show it really looks like an old reclaimed beam- only better.

**Q: Love the mirror and the wall color....can you tell me where I could find both?** *(in Photo Questions)*

I have a tan pedastal sink and toilet in my powder room and am having a hard time deciding on what to do. Any input would be appreciated. The floor is maple colored wood and fixtures are silver. thanks.

A: Thank you for looking, both the mirror and vanity were purchased at the "Costco Home" store in Kirkland Washington, which is now closed. I don't know who their supplier was.
The wall color was a custom mix that we did on site (added the pigments ourselves). A very similar color that works well with your color scheme is "Shaker Beige" by Benjamin Moore.
You might want to go with a 1/2 mix on the paint depending on how dark the "tan" is on the toilet and sink.
I hope this is helpful,
Tad

**Q: What is the wood and stain on this floor? Thank you.** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Kelly, thank you for your question.
Please remember that pictures don't show the true color of the product, especially when seen on a monitor. With that said:
This floor is Hickory. The stain is Bison (but that is just a color name and I don't think it looks the same or has the same color/tone as a bison- is it its winter or summer coat?)

I would go to a good paint store (here is Seattle I use Daly's, they have the best selection of stains) and check out their stains and do a few samples with your choice of flooring. We normally do 2 to 4 different stains samples on the actual flooring before a decision is made.

Best of luck to you on your project,
Tad
