Serving all of Fairfield County, CT, Litchfield County, CT and most recently, selective projects across the Country, Daniel Conlon Architects creates distinctive homes uniquely suited to the wishes of the Client and the demands of the site.

The Firm prides itself with many years experience and expertise in managing the unique challenges of Waterfront Design and Construction.

Because every project presents a different set of circumstances, founder Dan Conlon has consciously avoided the development of a signature style.
"There is no single vernacular or set of details that are appropriate for every project. What is important is the clarity of the design, the relationship of the building to the site, the organization of the living spaces and the crispness of the architectural detail," he explains.

Dan personally oversees every project from concept to completion, combining creativity and the expertise of his skilled staff to deliver the best in design and client service. Dan's background in construction, coupled with a rigorous theoretical architectural education from Cornell University, has reinforced the importance of taking pride not only in the firm's design work, but in every phase of the relationship, from the quality of their construction drawings to their management of the municipal approval and construction processes.

Bringing thirty years experience, Daniel Conlon Architects has provided quality architectural services for discriminating clients. The vast majority of their work has come through client referral, with many returning time after time. The firm has undertaken commissions ranging from modest additions to new estates with multiple buildings. "Ultimately we measure our success by the satisfaction of our clients," Dan says.

### Reviews

**★★★★★ — Graham Foster, Nov. 2023**

> Dan Conlon was recommended by a friend, who also had a home on the water. Our lot was tricky and Dan did an amazing job situating the house. We were on a tight time frame and Dan kept us on time during the permit process. His bedside manner through the process was perfect for us, and his ideas were exactly what we wanted. The house is now complete and we could not be happier.

**★★★★★ — jgnsaar, Sept. 2022**

> Dan helped us in creating our dream home! Throughout the entire process he was calm professional and solved every problem / answered all our questions to create the visions we had in mind. He is patient, creative and extremely smart with all of his ideas and designs. We couldn’t be happier with the end result. We highly recommend Dan and if we do any other renovations we will 100% use him again.

**Comment from Daniel Conlon Architects:**

> Thanks so much for your review. Enjoy your beautiful home! It was a pleasure working with you.

**★★★★★ — Barbara Johnson, Dec. 2021**

> As our architect and team leader for our newly constructed home, Dan Conlon was like the calm within the storm. The project was complicated, both structurally and from a zoning approval process, and then midway through, Covid arrived, adding another layer of complexity. Dan is a consummate professional who took all of these moving pieces in stride, and kept us on the path toward completion. He has a naturally collaborative personality which kept the homeowners, the design team, and the construction team working together and I believe he was able to get the best work out of everyone involved. As each challenge arose, Dan was able to turn it into a design opportunity, and our house is all the better for it.

> My husband and I highly recommend Dan and his team. I have alway heard the old adage that there are three legs to any building project - cost, quality, and time. Usually, you can get two of three, but it is very rare to get all three. I think we did with Dan.

**★★★★★ — W Smith, Aug. 2019**

> We are a repeat customer. This is the second home he has designed for us. Very happy with the first house and even happier with this one.

**★★★★★ — Peggy Eisen, April 2019**

> Dan and his team designed exactly the home I wanted. When the first iteration proved to be more expensive than I was budgeting, the second iteration was just as stunning and met all of my requirements. Dan listened carefully to what I wanted. Best example. When I told him I wanted a garage, he was skeptical I would lose too much living space. I persisted and he designed it, actually gaining living space!
> Not only is working with Dan a true delight as the client, builders also find him to be one of the best. His drawings and renderings are accurate and precise in every detail. And he is always available for consultations and walk throughs as the project progresses. I would work with Dan again any time. I could not have had a better experience or more beautiful home!

**★★★★★ — janet sparre, Oct. 2018**

> This was our first full house renovation. We purchased a home in rough shape located next to a tidal river with a history of flooding during times of high tide. Dan helped us navigate complicated town approvals, demonstrating creativity balanced with practicality, improving the functionality and layout of a small home in a beautiful spot. We relied on Dan for his knowledge of the town regs, the limitations of the property and his sense of style. We are delighted with the results and recommend Dan and his team for projects large and small.

**Comment from Daniel Conlon Architects:**

> Thank you for your review.
> We are happy the end result met with your expectations!

**★★★★★ — D Erickson, Feb. 2018**

> We highly recommend Daniel Conlon. Working with Dan is a true pleasure. We just moved into our new beautiful house and Dan guided us through the process from the very beginning (tear down of pre-existing dwelling, designs, approvals, construction to completion).
>
> Our project was particularly complicated because we are located in a flood zone in Old Greenwich, CT which required additional permitting and many code constraints. Dan handled it all with ease.
>
> He finds workable solutions to every problem and often turns those challenges into interesting design opportunities.
>
> We will happily work with Dan again if the opportunity arises.

**★★★★★ — Michael Dowling, Oct. 2017**

> We are very happy with Dan's guidance and advice that led to a new home that exceeded our expectations. Dan's knowledge and professionalism are beyond reproach.

**Comment from Daniel Conlon Architects:**

> Mike,
> Thanks for the review and all the best to you and family- enjoy your new home!

**★★★★★ — SA Brown, Feb. 2017**

> My wife and I strongly recommend Dan Conlon for your project.
>
> We worked with Dan over a period of 2 years, designing a renovation+addition that has turned our former outdated colonial into a modern and open plan dream home.
>
> Dan is very professional, patient and a pleasure to work with. He is very flexible and is a good listener. We greatly appreciated Dan's ability to present us with 3 design options to help us maximize the best design vs our budget. We added ~1k square feet; redesigned the kitchen, added a mudroom for the kids, butlers pantry, laundry room and added 2 new bedrooms.
>
> We do not have 1 complaint. Dan drove to our house a few times to present the preliminary drawings. When we were ready to pull the trigger, he turned the final drawings around quickly. He worked collaboratively with the contractor and always made himself available when last minute surprises popped up during the renovation.
>
> Dan is fantastic. We recommend him 100%.

**★★★★★ — Chris Dillon, Jan. 2017**

> My wife and I originally interviewed Dan but decided to go with another architect since Dan was tied up for the ensuing few months. After a brief period with the other architect, however, we realized the error of our ways and circled back with Dan. That is by far the best decision we made when renovating our house. Dan is a professional in every sense of the word. He listened to what we said, both with respect to design and cost and delivered a finished product on which we continually receive compliments, which is testimony to his talent.

**★★★★★ — scbk, Oct. 2016**

> Dan was the person who brought our log desired renovation and addition together for us. He took our ideas and the needs of the project pragmatically and beautifully into focus for the entire team. He is professional and straightforward in communicating and you did not need to question where he stood on any point. He listened and made changes to the project based on our feedback and worked to bring the form, function and design to a level we had not visualized.

**Comment from Daniel Conlon Architects:**

> Thank you for your review. It was a pleasure working with you!

**★★★★★ — Dave LoCascio / AW Hastings, June 2016**

> As a Marvin fenestration consultant, I have enjoyed working with Dan Conlon on his projects for over 17 years. He truly gets what it takes to put a project together from the design process, to the working drawings, all the way through the construction administration. He and his staff’s diligence in making sure all the pieces go together beautifully ensures that his clients are happy with the final result. Valuing his opinion and insight, Dan has also been gracious in accepting my invite to participate as a panelist on Marvin product planning discussions for new products.
> I recommend him highly and look forward to working with him on many more projects.
