In a nutshell, we had an amazing and completely satisfying experience working with FB Design, from start to finish. The lead architect, Cecil, turned our sketches and directions for a light and airy feel into a design that contained all our requirements and more, added beautiful structural elements, and ingeniously integrated with the existing 60-year-old house. The result is stunning and gorgeous (according to friends and visitors) and wows. On Cecil’s and Amy’s (the owner of FB Design) recommendation, we petty much made all choices for finishes before we submitted the plans for building permits. That helped FB Design to create a very accurate budget and also helped keep surprises during construction to a minimum. It is worth noting that the vendors that FB Design likes to work with were all very helpful, informative, and generally pleasant to work with. > The project was estimated to take 5-6 months and was completed in 5 months. During that time, we stayed in the house and boarded up the divide to the work area. We cramped a makeshift kitchen into the living room and did dishes in the bathroom. The garage became the workshop for the crew and they offered to set up our washer/dryer in there, which we greatly appreciated. > The builders could not have been a nicer, more professional and thoughtful crew. We really cannot emphasize enough how pleasant the FB Design team and their subcontractors are and how well they all work together. Many have known each other for a long time. Chantha from FB Design was our project manager and also the head carpenter. We feel lucky to have had him; his project management skills are fantastic and he will not deliver less than the best quality. He most definitely represented our interests towards the subcontractors even when it meant more work for himself (he came out one night during a rain storm to fix a pencil-sized hole in a tarp before the new roof went up). We briefly checked in with Chantha daily, and we had weekly progress meetings with the design team. > We highly recommend FB Design—they took care of everything so that all went smoothly and we love the result. We are grateful for such a positive experience in an undertaking that could have been fraught with stress and regret. They were truly a pleasure to work with in creating our home. **★★★★★ — ella1971, Oct. 2014** > Friedman Brueggemeyer Design has done many projects for us and three different houses. The project on our current home included designing and building a new kitchen and two bathrooms. They also coordinated many other trades people to refinish the hardwood floors, repaint the house install tile and have custom concrete counters made as well as custom cabinets. I have never worked with a better contractor than Amy, she is organized, through and available to ask all questions from start to finish. > > The firm also did quite a bit of work getting a rental house ready for sale. All new windows were ordered and installed new floor in the kitchen and painting inside and out. Since we were preparing the house for sale we were wanting the project to be finished in a timely fashion. Amy was very conscious of time and budget for the project. Amy is a calming presence on the job site and makes a potential stressful event go very smoothly. The people she has working on the project where all top notch as well. Many of the trades people she works with are employees of the firm not just subcontractors.
