The whole space feels very creamy/yellowy and very boring. What kind of wall color and what kind of bar stools would you use to brighten/liven up the space? Or would you stick with a matching cream wall and rely on some cool artwork? Kitchen is in the back of the first floor and visible when you first walk into the house. Appliances will be stainless steel. A: I would go with a gray paint or light bluish gray. For the stools I would bring in the metal back stools or a fabric stool. See pictures below. A: Hello- The tub front is 3x6 Herringbone-Picasso in a brick set and the top of the tub deck is 18x18 Travertine in a straight set. **Q: Kitchen in need of an uplift but on a small budget** *(in Before & After)* Before - Clients were limited on their budget but wanted to give their kitchen a lift. After - By changing the flooring, painting the cabinets and adding granite counter tops and lighting the kitchen went from drab to fab! Extending the counter top also gave them extra eating space. Great Job! **Q: HELP - What to do with empty space** *(in Design Dilemma)* We recently moved into our new house and the first floor is one large open floor plan - one room that is about 1400 square feet. This one room includes the kitchen, dining area, living room, and this empty space that then leads out to the back deck. This empty space is about 12 feet wide by 18 feet long that is just empty and we have no idea what to do with it. Attached are picture of the area. As you see, we already have a living room and dining room. I feel a formal sitting area would look/act odd right being the living area. What would you do with the space? A: I would suggest putting a console table on that wall with tall lamps. Also putting a plant in the comer and hanging some art or a long mirror. The living and dining rooms together are approximately 30 x 12. I currently have a blue area rug under the sofa but I think it may be too small for the space. A: Here is an idea. Also I would suggest art work or accent paint.
