(see "Elegant Victorian Revival in West Chester"). I was honored and quite nervous when she chose me as the interior designer for the project. During my first meeting with Paul, I knew I was in good hands. I had used Lighting by Design for many personal projects, but had never had the privilege of working with Paul. I honestly thought we would choose some fixtures together, and I would be on my way. But Paul came to the home and put together a full lighting plan including recessed lighting, sconces, chandeliers, task lighting and more. He created scenes in each room to achieve the perfect amount of lighting to create the perfect setting for that room. Designing a home for a family member is unique because I actually get to enjoy the home after it's completed. And this home is magnificent. Paul was amazing on numerous levels! With only our architectural plans as input, he guided us in selecting all our lighting needs. Several of his design recommendations stand out for me. We insisted on a square-framed pendent lighting for the kitchen of our 2 story Colonial. Paul relayed a personal story to us about his kids jumping up and down on the 2nd floor causing their kitchen pendents to go out of alignment. Great story and we love the circle-framed pendents in our kitchen! We have beautiful french doors looking out onto our back patio from our breakfast room. We needed a chandelier above the table. Paul scanned the room and said you don't want to put a chandelier there and obstruct that beautiful view. Trust me as the owner of the store if I don't want to sale you something it is because I know it won't look good. Paul also recommended this unique fixture for the large white space on the back of our house. We would never have thought of this idea and every time we look at it we just say "Wow!" Paul had lots of great lighting suggestions and many of the products were available to see at his showroom including some very unique pieces to help customize our home. His wealth of knowledge about lighting design was invaluable in helping us select pieces that fit perfectly with the style of our home. Paul is both charming and amusing! We were very comfortable working with him. What wall color would you suggest? I will also use an oriental rug with multiple colors A: I mainly focus on lighting, however, since my personal taste is very similar to yours when it comes to gray and white furniture, I do have an opinion on this. The cool color spectrum ranges between white, black, gray and blue. Since you already have white and gray and you would not paint your walls black, I would say look for interesting blues.
