The consensus was to pick flooring first and then choose paint color. We have narrowed it down to two CoreTec options: 1) red river hickory or 2) treasure pine. The wall color will likely be something neutral like SW7012 Creamy. As one comment recommended, I have added a few photos of the flooring samples next to the wood and fireplace brick in the room. Unfortunately, it is overcast today, so not much natural light in the photos. Hoping you guys might be able to help me pick which one to use. Photo of living room from the realtor site. A: As a Taupe color I would choose Farrow and Ball - Elephant Breath. It would give a fresher and more contemporary look then you change the accent pillow and shade colors. I would add also two mid-large size floor plants. **Q: Tile or Wood for a foyer is causing me to lose sleep. HELP!!!** *(in Flooring)* I am replacing an outdated tile foyer and hall (13' X 9') in a traditional colonial home that I recently purchased. The adjoining dining room, office and kitchen have beautiful dark, hickory distressed wood. I was going to have ceramic tile, with a mosaic insert (3' X 4') as a focal point installed. Everyone, including the tile guy, is trying to convince me to extend the same wood into the foyer. Our front door is rarely used. Water and possible scratching is not an issue with wood. At the same time, the hardness and cold of the tile is not an issue. I am having a very difficult time making a decision since this is an expensive job that will need to last until I move or die. Hopefully neither is in the foreseeable future. Any ideas or suggestions to help with my decision? A: With no doubt wood. **Q: Update or remove rock fireplace** *(in Design Dilemma)* is there a way to update this 70s fireplace or should we remove it? We don’t have any plans to move. Thanks for your thoughts. A: I agree with comments above that the issue its not the fireplace. I would leave it there (always nice to have one) eliminate the wood shelve on top of the stone. Lower slightly the TV. Eliminate the cabinets both sides and do built in shelves. Since they are shelves they will look neutral and wont look small. Would add plants at both of them. Stone, lime-washing seems a good option so it doesn't contrast as much. **Q: doors** *(in Photo Questions)* I noticed the doors. The front door and this one can you please tell me where can I find them A: Hi there, each door was a different custom design. CAD drawings were provided to door company to be manufactured.
