The reason being, Mr. Andrew Merz was the only contractor who asked me detailed information on what I wanted in a deck, approximate size, deck material, railing, and stairs, before giving me a quote. Mr. Merz, explained the different deck materials. He was on time for appointments, very pleasant, informative, and made good suggestions. Most of all, Mr. Merz did not try to sell more expensive products. I very much wanted a mahogany deck, and Mr. Merz encouraged me to be sure about what I wanted before finalizing the details. He told me to be sure that I really needed stairs and would use them. I now have a beautiful mahogany deck with stairs, and vinyl railing and aluminum balusters, which do not block the view. He took care of everything from obtaining county permit to the completion of the deck. Ron Meyer was the master carpenter who built my deck. Mr. Merz stopped by often. The work place was always neat and clean. My neighbors and friends admired the deck when it was completed, and some were envious in a nice way. If I have to describe my deck in a single word, it would be “awesome!” One of my neighbors who looked at the deck from the start to finish told me the whole thing was “first class all the way!” Another neighbor told me that my deck made all other decks around look bad! I am very happy with my deck and I wonder how I lived without a deck all these days.
