I had planned to use a chimney style hood but am now contemplating an under cabinet model instead. As I understand, the cabinetry above the visible part of the unit will conceal and house the guts of the unit. I know that in a recirculating hood there are filters that stop some of the grease crud, but the used air still needs to come out somewhere. Does the recirculated air just spill out into the empty upper cabinet? Do I need to open the cabinet doors when running the vent hood? Will the interior of that cabinet that houses the guts of the unit be gross and full of grease? If you know about or have a situation like this, I appreciate your feedback. A: Did you ever figure this out **Q: Carrara Caldia quartz** *(in Design Dilemma)* Is anyone familiar with Carrara Caldia quartz? It is a new release from MSI so there isn't much info to be found on the web. I saw it at a slab wear house today and really liked it, but want to be very certain there are NO PINK undertones to it. It looked lovely in their lighting and I didn't see any pink when I held a white subway tile next to it, but I'm no pro. They did not have any samples for me to bring home yet, as it is a very new release. A: so glad I found this thread. Am thinking of these counters as well for my kitchen. One question, the description says: soft gold clouds and veins. I have not seen gold in any of the samples or online pics. Does it look to have gold in it? I don't care for gold which why I ask.
