It is a project that I am more than passionate about, as I designed the home myself and have been planning to build it for 14yrs. This is our 1st time building and Mr.Jones was patient in explaining the process and answering my many, many questions. He bid my project fairly and included materials that were considered upgrades by some other custom home builders. Mr. Jones was present at every major step of my building process and I am grateful for that since his attention to detail prevented mistakes being made. His relationships with vendors and craft people allowed my project to proceed smoothly and avoided some major delays. I found Hardy to be upfront and honest. A few of my selected items, brick in particular, were long lead items. Mr. Jones explained to me the impact that my choice would have on the schedule and the budget, but left the ultimate choice to me. Same with field changes; once my home was framed, I realized that I wanted a door made wider, windows changed, and a ceiling detail added. None of this was on my plans, so it was not included in my bid from Imani. Again, he explained the impact to the schedule and to the budget, but left the choice to me. I appreciated his allowing me that freedom vs just saying no. I also appreciated the fact that he always returned calls or text messages in the event that he missed a call. I was not Mr. Jones only project under construction, at the time, but at no point did I feel like just another project.
