We interviewed a number of builders and selected Steve as our top choice for a number of reasons. > > \- His past work was high quality and came with good references. > \- His attention to detail was evident in his work, estimates and general conversation. > \- The size of his company was ‘just right’ for us. We were not his only project, nor were we lost in a sea of other projects. I believe he had 2 other projects in various stages concurrent with ours. This was important to us as he had enough time to spend with us, as well as having resources/contractors available to do our work. > \- His subcontractors are all quality craftsmen and dedicated to their trade. > \- He gladly accepted our requirement of a ‘team approach’ with the Architect, Designer and ourselves from day 1. We had a true collaborative approach. > \- His team was responsive and available via phone/text/email at all times. This was very important to us also, as we were remote during the build process. > > The overall build went very well and was actually fun to be a part of. Even with some weather challenges, we finished on schedule (~ 16 months) and on budget. As with any project, there were some 'unknowns and discoveries’ that popped up, however all were handled in a timely manner. Steve took the lead as needed to ensure things were handled properly. You never want to run into problems during a project, however it is a true indicator of professionalism and integrity when they arise and you see how they are handled and resolved. We knew that our interests were Steve's top priority and he would do what was necessary to ensure a quality job. > > Overall, our home exceeds our expectations. We spent a lot of time at the site during construction and interacted with the crews. Everyone was a pleasure to deal with and we felt good seeing their pride and commitment to their work. > > In the end, we were building a home, not a house.
