Bob VanBenschoten is a quality craftsman with over 30 years of experience. Bob initially started his company in 1991 as RA VanBenschoten Contracting Inc. In 2001, he partnered with the late Donald Lynch and founded VanBenschoten and Lynch Builders Inc. Bob is professionally trained and is extremely dedicated and passionate about his work.  Bob is a certified lead safe contractor through the EPA and also a licensed building inspector.

We are craftsmen, and our mission is to create unique handmade pieces and millwork to match and complement the architecture and style of every client's home.

I enthusiastically recommend VanBenschoten and Lynch - Bob is simply the best, and it was our genuine privilege to have Bob work on our house and lead his team to transform our old house, which had been in desperate need of care for years before we bought, into a beautiful and comfortable living space. Bob is a gentleman to deal with and he brings enormous creativity, thought and extensive experience to every job he does.
> We had the good fortune of having Bob and his team perform extensive renovations on our 100+ year old house: replace roof, gutters, and external shingles and clapboard; rear porch addition; renovate and update front wraparound porch; new basement and rear entrances; French drains and sump pumps; new kitchen; all new bathrooms (2 full and 2 half baths); renovate and level basement; multizone HVAC; upgrade all electric and plumbing; new attic and basement storage, among other things. Bob is an excellent craftsman who truly understands old homes and can make any renovation blend in seamlessly with the original architecture and style of a home making sure everything is always structurally sound.  He also does all work up to code and never cuts corners.  Bob has totally gutted and renovated our kitchen, added a mudroom/half bath/pantry, totally gutted and renovated our main bathroom, added a shower to our third-floor bathroom, repaired our garage structure, designed and constructed the most beautiful fireplace mantel along with numerous other small repairs that come with owning an old house.  Bob is also a true woodworker and his custom pieces are not only beautiful but of the highest quality.
