I will not be using them again despite having other planned projects. Here are some of the many issues i had with this company below. > > \- After agreeing to use them but before the start of the project the price of the plumbing went up $2500 without any change in the scope of work. I negotiated this down, but was annoyed at the price change. > > \- On the first day, during demolition, they did not put any protection down on the the floor. I had to tell the workmen to do this. > > \- "Plumb and level." Joe will say this over and over again. He will state that he keeps a close eye on his workers. This is simply not true. There were numerous times were I had to have them redo something because it was not done well. Maybe i am a perfectionist, but if you want a clean looking job this is not the company for you. Two stars because he did redo things when i pointed them out. > > \- Joe expected me to pay the last payment before the project was done. I had to argue with him and tell him this was not acceptable. > > \- They left the junction boxes for pendant lights very loose and the lights fixture swings when you touch them. I cant believe this was left like this. I have to get another electrician to come fix this, very frustrating and costly. > > \- Joe convinced me to let him build one of the cabinets instead of the cabinet maker. He said I didn't need cabinet grade in that area. I agreed but regret it now. I told him that I was concerned the action on the drawer would not be as good if he built it but he assured me not to worry. He used a cheaper hinge for his construction compared to the cabinet maker. The cabinet was not built well and the drawer gets stuck half way to close. They have tried multiple times to fix this but are not able to. He should have told me that they are not capable of building this. he should have not told me he could build it. > > \- We had a window installed in the wall. We had an architect make meticulous drawing and she went through these drawing with him. They messed this up and did not follow the drawing. He initially refused to admit that he didn't follow the drawing and tried to blame the architect but it was as clear as day that the drawing was different from the what he had done. Two stars for redoing this (Although he did end up finding a reason to charge me more for the framing). > > \- we had a French doors installed. His team worked for three days but could not get the door to close well. I ended up calling the manufacturer and they were able to get the door closing well in 20 minutes. Joe tried to charge me for the time he spent trying (and failing) to install the door. > > \- This one is the most disappointing; we had a leak in our bathroom while the work was on going. I thought it just needed some caulk. Joe asked if he could take a look and told me that it was the pan and recommended we redo the whole bathroom... There was no organization, no real contract, missed deadlines (there was no timeline even, and many more issues along the way. Most importantly, the work was not done up to par and now we have been slowly redoing much of the work that was done where Zano did not deliver high quality work - now with high quality providers. Molding throughout the house is askew/angled, they picked the wrong stone type for a fireplace and it's now cracked, floors are cracked with nails sticking out, painting was uneven and cracked (/certain areas weren't primed)...it goes on, and on, and on. > > We’ve had other experts come into the house for second - and even third - opinions…all of whom have been wowed by the poor workmanship. In seeking resolution with Zano, they would only offer to redo the work if we PAID THEM AGAIN! Unbelievable. They were clearly in over their heads with a big project, and the work quality suffered tremendously. Before proceeding with any job, we do send out a detailed estimate explaining the work to be performed which is signed prior to the start of the project. In addition, prior to the completion of any project, there is a final walk through in which there is ample opportunity to raise any concerns with the scope and/or quality of the workmanship. We take pride in our work and stand by the product we put out. If a customer is not satisfied, we will work directly with them to rectify the situation. We would NEVER seek to be double compensated for work that is not satisfactory. > > In looking back at your project, it is important to note that same was completed back in 2019 and quite some time has passed since that date. Aside from a flooring issue that we were made aware of and actually addressed, there was no mention of any additional work that was unsatisfactory. If there was, we would have addressed those issues back in 2019 when the job was completed and a final walk through was done. In fact, we were under quite the opposite impression when you expressed how happy you were and even let us post photos of the beautiful job done on your staircase. With regard to your floors, we brought in a flooring expert who took a look at the issue and indicated that what you were seeing was not related to the workmanship but rather the humidity levels in your home. Even with that, and because you were unhappy with the change in the flooring that was occurring, we offered to replace all of your flooring at direct cost for the materials. When a large tree fell on our house during a storm they went above and beyond to get repairs done quickly. We could not have been happier and I immediately hired them to do renovations on my mom's house. With a full renovation of the kitchen and bathrooms, refinishing floors, electrical work, interior and exterior painting etc., the team kept me informed from start to finish and stayed within budget.
