> Julie is a great listener and is willing to step in and help where ever she can. She knows how to work with other contractors and people on the site. You know she will always give you the honest answer, and you can trust her completely. She was a great asset on our remodel team and we are thrilled with the end result..

**★★★★★ — Monica, Oct. 2019**

> Julie helped us create a home that our family loves and cherished. She understood to our needs, had patience with us, and came up with creative ideas to accommodate our needs.
> She was able to manage challenges that presented along the way and maintained good communication not only with us, but with other people involved in the project (contractor, subcontractors, etc).
> The entire project from initial discussion of it until the end ran smoothly thanks in part to her thoughtful and insightful creative solutions.

**★★★★★ — CHRISTINE BARNES, Oct. 2019**

> Julie and her team were wonderful to work with during the upgrade and remodel of our mid-century home in Sausalito. It began with Julie have to create a proper set of plans for our 60 year old property, and included structural (internal and external) work as well as removing and moving walls, creating a full bathroom out of a dirt-floor storage area, and creatively bringing much needed light to a dark great room. Through every stage of our remodel, from conception to design, then project oversight, Julie worked closely with us; she listened to our ideas and concerns and incorporated them into the plans. Once when a mistake was made on her side, she quickly owned it and made it right. She continued to be responsive and helpful throughout our 12 months of work.
> We especially appreciated Julie's flexibility when we asked her to work with a designer and contractor she did not know. She did so with grace and professionalism and has gone on toe collaborate with each of them on other projects.
> We highly recommend Julie and JMJ Studios.

**★★★★★ — Roberto Charvel, Oct. 2019**

> I wish I could give JMJ Studios ten stars!! Working with Julie and her team was a delight. From the day I met Julie I felt a connection with her. Julie always put our design goals first and integrated them into our house plans. She gave us multiple design options and helped us narrow down our plans to find the right fit for our family and budget. She has impeccable design skills, communicates with ease and clarity, and is a pleasure to work with. She also helped us with interior design choices. Julie and her team went above and beyond our expectations. We feel so lucky to have found such an exceptional architect and an extraordinary person to work with us.

**★★★★★ — Tania Tour-Sarkissian, May 2019**

> Julie Johnson and JMJ Studios helped us transform a former kitchen in an Edwardian-era home into a new master bath and two closets. Working with us prior to demolition, Julie came up with a layout that made full and creative use of the space – she is a master at space planning. In the design phase, she collaborated with us to make sure that her design fit our needs, and gave us very helpful input on the fixtures and finishes. During construction, her architectural plans were unerringly accurate and detailed, providing answers to each and every issue. Not only is Julie a highly skilled architect with vision and an ability to meet deadlines, but she is patient, kind, and a pleasure to work with. We are delighted with our new bathroom and closets, and highly recommend Julie and her team at JMJ Studios.

**★★★★★ — flojtd, Sept. 2018**

> We hired Julie from JMJ Studios to work on a kitchen renovation project.
> Julie performed an outstanding work! She conceptualized the space in accordance to our family dynamics. She shared highly creative ideas, while remaining within budget frame. Julie is very talented, her designs are a proof of it. Julie's communication is fast, easy, open. Julie is a great listener, and really works around clients' considerations. The room we had her redesign is now our favorite room in our home. We get ongoing compliments from friends, and family. Julie's work speaks for itself!

**★★★★★ — Susan C. Kim, Nov. 2016**

> Julie Johnson at JMJ Studios is a master of modern design. With experience in helping to design some of the Bay Area's most coveted buildings--such as the California Academy of Sciences and the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory--she now brings her talents to residential design. She transformed my old rickety carport into a unique contemporary garage that everyone now raves about. Not only is Julie's aesthetic amazing, she is warm and delightful to work with. If I could rate her 10 stars, I would.

**★★★★★ — Jessica Lindl, Nov. 2016**

 - Description: This project was an interior remodel with a 2-story rear addition added to a newly purchased middle flat. The client had deeded rights to the rear yard so we built a 2-story, one room addition off the rear of the property. This gave the upper tenant a useful rear deck, and added a bedroom & basement 'office' to our clients middle flat. This essentially gave the condo, the look and feel of a single family residence.

## Community Q&A

**Q: fire pit** *(in Photo Questions)*

Can you please share where is it from. Thank you

A: Sorry for the delay, it's the Topanga Rectangular fire table by Restoration Hardware. Definitely buy the cover!

**Q: Great look. What kind of doors are these? Looks like panoramic doors?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Hello, Yes you are correct - they were more cost-competitive than some others and were not "top-hung" which allowed us to get a size reduction in the structural header.

**Q: Does Houzz sell this patterned tile?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Thank you for your question. You can purchase from Ann Sacks - Kelly Wearstler, Liaison Mosaic

**Q: What type of wood is the fence?** *(in Photo Questions)*

It's gorgeous, I love the warm, varied tones. WIll it grey over time?

A: The wood is Ipe, if you install in 'easy to get to' areas, and apply the correct wood oil every 6-12 months - it should maintain the rich brown color. I prefer the way cedar wears, if you are looking for nice silvery, grey tones.

**Q: What is the material used for grey siding?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Hi - Swisspearl, cement panel siding. Color: nobilis grey.

**Q: What product did you use for the trim between window and rainscreen?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Is it an actual product, or just custom bent break metal? inserted into window accessory groove, or mounted to sheathing?

thanks!

A: http://www.fibercementpanel.com/ - this is western specialites website...
